Yeah, I got it.  It just seemed easier for me to picture the car as Roseanne.

I hate the car but I have to draw the line comparing it to her. It's not that bad. This is as close to a compliment you're likely to see come from me on the topic.

You're right Bull, it is a little too far.  I guess I was feeling extra snarly yesterday.

"At least it doesn't say Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, Subaru, Lexus, Infinity, Suzuki, Volkswagon, Audi, Mercedes Benz, BMW, etc, etc, etc. "

I'll second that.

Like some have said, a 2 door charger may never happen again.  But it doesn't hurt to dream or to ask/tell dodge that some of us would like one.  If you never say anything, people assume you like everything they do/say/manufacture.

The only way to change something is to let people know you want something different.

If Dodge really wanted to, they could make this happen.  Also, and i'm not claiming credit in any way, but I read today that the "R/T" is now the top of the line model charger.  I actually suggested that several tiems to Dodge ove rthe last few years.  I doubt it was my input that did it, but appearanlty Dodge liked that idea too.  (actualy there is the R/T and then the R/T "Road & Track" version, which is silly because R/T stands for Road & Track.......)  The "Road & Track package, according to allpar, features a "unique grile".  Retro perhaps, blacked out perhaps.

anyway, peoples input aka endless whiner blowhards, can make a difference.  (even if they tick you off in the process)

that will really confuse people if they were to market 2 totally different R/T packages on the same car

Something just occured to me, something that I know will never happen, but just the same......

Wouldn't it be nice if they offered two versions, a 4-door and a 2?  That might work.  It's been done lots of times with many car models.

At this stage in my life, and that is the 'hauling around kids' stage, I wouldn't consider buying a two door vehicle, so a 4 door Charger is not as blasphemous to me as it is to others.  And for obvious reasons lots of guys want a 2 door.

And the 2-door version could have some styling details incorporated that a 4-door version can't handle, which would allow the car to appeal to a wider buyer base.  Have you seen the difference between a Pontiac G6 4-door base model and a 2-door GT?  They don't even look like the same model.

Landonsrt

They do offer the Charger in a two door model. It's called the Challenger......

69charger2002

negative. the challenger is a nice car and looks like a challenger. it is not a direct substitute for those of us longing for a retro 2 door muscle charger.. not even close. and yes i have owned and sold a 09 challenger R/T already. awesome car, but not a charger. i want a charger damn it!
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

Copied and pasted directly from the Allpar site's charger page:

"New: we have confirmation that the model lineup will be...
•Dodge Charger SE, standard 292 horsepower V6
•Dodge Charger SXT and SXT Plus. SXT adds 18 inch polished wheels, 8.4 inch stereo/Uconnect, 8-way powered driver's seat, heated front seats, remote start, fog lamps; Plus adds leather, power passenger seat, heated rear seats, and more.
•Rallye Group adds 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, rear spoiler, 9 speakers, and 506-watt amp
•Charger R/T and R/T Road & Track add 5.7 Hemi (372 hp, HID headlights, rear spoiler; Road & Track adds unique grille, 20-inch wheels, spoiler, badging, performance exhaust, and more)
•Dodge Charger R/T AWD includes all R/T equipment plus 19 inch twin-spoke wheels, lowered suspension vs 2010 AWD model, and active transfer case with front axle disconnect for better gas mileage"

Good quote from that article...

However over the last few years buyers have become accustom to their Chargers having four doors. They understand now that these are not true sports cars
, but sport minded family sedans that have been updated for the modern age.

Sport minded family sedans... Interesting way of putting it!!

UH60L

"Sport minded family sedans... Interesting way of putting it!!"

I'll give him points for originality.  In the last 5 years, I have heard it all, concerning the car they are currently selling, but I have never heard it called a "sport minded family sedan".

That's a new one.

I have to say the side by side photos definately make the 2011 look even better than it already did.  A huge step in the correct direction.  Now let's lift that other foot..........come on Dodge, you can do it, one foot after the other........

long live the intrepid's taillights

That is the best rendering of a new Charger I have seen yet. I would LOVE to own that! It doesn't look like it would be too difficult to build on the current platform. Do you know what the story is behind that car?

JPL

I was told they were adding two more doors:

;)

DC_1

When was that 2 door rendering at the Nats? I missed 2009, if it was that year then that explains why I haven't seen it before. I actually really like the look of that one. Who built it?

lexxman

I still think thay need to go old school this car. :2thumbs:
