edit, it makes me a hypocrite to poke fun at others' disabilities.   :slap:

Poke away Mike. Reality has no barriers. It's the fantasies and wild ideas that make us want to "poke fun" at others.  :icon_smile_wink:

 :smilielol:

Ok guys, you are in for a treat.   I just got off the phone with a insider at Chrysler Design that I know....

There will be 2 versions of Dodge Chargers for 2011.
The first is the car we all see right now......
The new one is a 2 door based off of the 1968 body kind of like the Challenger and called
Charger GT R/T.... named by me.

The MSRP is to be in the low 30's for a base model and mid to high 60's for the loaded model.     :2thumbs:

There will be limited production of these cars.   I get to test drive one for car & driver in September and then they are giving it to me.  I also get to pick the colors for the new Chargers and can give out 40% discounts to all my DC.com friends....
       :nana:  :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

Luckily those wheels don't fit on 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen Chargers.   ;)

You see right there is a good thing about our classics.   Our cars don't need all the bling bling worthless crap to add to them.   We don't need to add accessories just to get attention, add value or get looks.    :icon_smile_wink:

Just wait til you guys see the Charger GT R/T........    :drool5:

Oh yes, I'm aware of that.  I dare say there's as many classics with those wagon wheels as there are modern.  I wanted to post some pix of 1-3 gen Chargers with those wheels to counter with but for some reason I've never saved any pix of them over the years.  My limit is 16" for now.

I was being sarcastic.  Hook, line & sinker.  Didn't think I'd reel in skip though.  ;)

Yes, I realize that too. I guess I should of thrown in a 4x4 comment lol.

Black Charger

Those pics of the "ghetto cruiser" LX Chargers are not typical of the kind of folks that frequent the LX forums. In fact, most of us poke fun as such cars whenever someone posts up pics of them. Like I said earlier, the majority of us LX owners don't turn them into "pimp mobiles" or "ghetto cruisers." I have left my SRT8 stock in appearance and I plan to keep it that way (well, sans the ugly side moldings anyway).

I totally agree with the person who said that Chrysler's dealerships are to blame for a lot of their financial woes. It seems that they won't deal much on the Challenger, some even tacking on bogus "market adjustments" OVER the sticker price. The new Camaro, on the other hand, is much more frequently seen on the street (at least around here) and the local Chevy dealers are a lot more willing to deal with a serious customer.  It's a shame too, because the Challenger was out two years before the new Camaro and they could have had a lot of those potential Camaro buyers driving Challengers if their dealers wouldn't have been so damned greedy.

:scratchchin: It's taken me a while to figgure out where styleisticly their going (or comming from) with this restyle but it makes alot of sense to me now having thought about it, and having looked at comparative photos..

Oh good...after reading all these posts, I thought I was the only one who doesn't see any connection between these 'Chargers' and the old ones, was wondering why they would name a 4-door car "Charger". Phew, thanks guys!  :ricky:

That's essentially an industry-wide complaint.

It's certainly a Mopar-wide complaint.  The Mopar dealership experience is a bigger problem than anything about the design & production of the cars.

Don't forget the herd has been more substantially culled at "tax-payer-Chrysler".  For the large part the Chevy dealer still has more contention with the Chevy dealer down the street.  This puts downward pressure on the over sticker markup.

Also, back-in-the-day there were more Camaros on the street than Challengers.  Why wouldn't it follow the same today?

There were more Camaros on the street back in the day because the Camaro had a three year jump on the Challenger, so it would make sense that the Camaro was more common on the street. On the other hand, the first of the new Challengers came out in 2008 and the new Camaro has only been out for about 5-6 months. There SHOULD be more Challengers on the street, but thanks to Chrysler's greedy dealers, that didn't happen.
