LCA interchange

[Belgium R/T -68]

In a parts interchangebook I have the lower controlarms of a -68 (with swaybar) has a different partnumber then the one for a -70 but are they
really different or do they fit both years?

The control arm would fit your car and could be used but the sway bar is attached differently in 1970 so in that aspect it isn't a true interchange.

The swaybar is closer to the spindle on a 68, on a 70 the swaybar is mounted differently.

Thanks guys Need a pair for my challyproject and it seems the -70 E and B-bodys are the same, mine doesn't have the "ear" for the swaybar.

So what you are actually looking for are a pair of 70 E body lca's with sway bar mounting brackets?

I think "Firm Feel" sells them with the reinforcement plates welded on and ready to go.

In theory, if you had no front swaybars on either car, then a 1968/69 lower control arms and K-frame would fit onto a 1970 Charger/Challenger and vice versa.  The sway bar mounting setup was the only difference.  


The 1970 Setup has been more supported by the aftermarket than the 1968/69 setup because it appeared on the highly desirable 1970-72 E-bodies.
