I'm looking for a cheap used 4X4 quad.. I have a huge driveway and 300'+ of sidewalk I have to clear every snow storm, and was hoping to find something that could plow with no problem. My driveway is very steep and almost impossible to maneuver with my truck/plow.

Anyways, I'm finding things like this...

But I have no experience with quads, so I don't know what's good/bad.. My goal is to stay UNDER $3k.  A buddy of mine owns a big Grizzly , but the thing cost him $8k+!!

Any help is appreciated.

That ATV ad looks lilke a honda 350 which is fine for plowing snow but will power out in the deep stuff.   :brickwall:  It could help finish the driveway but a good snowblower would do the same work for less money.

My  :Twocents: would be buy the ATV and a good snowblower for twice the fun.

Well, I just bought an Ariens 13HP blower.. The thing is a MONSTER.

The only problem is my wife is 4'11" tall and 100 lbs and would like to "help" a bit with snow removal.. She can't possibly control the snowblower (it's like riding a rodeo bull getting the thing up my driveway some times), so I thought a decent quad might be "fun" for us to have...

Then I would say go for it.  Your wife will enjoy pushing snow with that ATV but she should take some lessons on how to ride this bike with a snowplow.  It is easy to get in over your head with ATVs once you bolt on attachments like a snowplow.

If you do decide to get a quad to remove snow with, make sure you had good snow tires on it. We have a newer quad at my mom's and it dosen't do good in the snow because it has summer type tires.

A honda foreman or rancher.  Both can have 4X4, and the ES has electronic shifting, all gears are on the handle bar.  Real easy machine to handle, my brother went trail riding on one with a broken foot.  Keep the speeds down with the plow though, hitting a snowbank too fast can throw you pretty hard.

My wife has a Honda Recon 4x2 . 4ft plow ,does ok with good tires. Would not recomend the electric shift models .

Been beat up for 6 years plowing, pulling carts , trail riding. Still going strong. $3300 new
