Anybody ever have a pushrod do this?

So, I just put the dual valve springs in after breakin. While I had the rocker assembly apart, I checked all the pushrods, to my surprise, they all had these marks on them. Any idea why, or if I should worry about it?

Are you using an aftermarket head ? if so, the pushrod may be slightly touching the cylinder head, I've seen this happen before.

Sorry about the blurry pic. No I'm running the factory heads and block that came in the car. The only deviation from stock is the roller cam and lifters. It does look like they're rubbing a little bit on the head when the valve is open.

When I installed crane gold rocker arms and new 3/8 pushrods on my 440 they rubbed on the factory heads so I had to grind some clearance into the heads. The factory used 5/16 pushrods if I remember correctly.

Yep, pushrods are rubbing....this often happens with thicker 3/8in pushrods and/or 1.6 rocker arms in place of the stock 1.5 rockers.

Or.....rocker arms may not be in the correct order....there is a bit of an offset to them
