Anyone else hate the sound of an auctioneer?

Any time I watch the BJ auction on TV, I have to turn the sound off.

To me, the sound of the auctioneers voice is so annoying I want to climb through the TV and strangle him.

Anyone else feel that way, or is it just me?

My wife really hates it too.  I tried to explain that it's part of the hype.  Get everyone confused, raise the adrenalin level, and people spend more than they realize.  It reminds me of the old tobacco auctions.  The ones that ended with "Sold American" or Sold Philip Morris".  There's an art to being an auctioneer and you have to go to school to learn how to do it.  I think that rich people that buy cars at BJ wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much if they didn't have the auctioneer and the guys yelling back up to the auctioneer.  And if nobody noticed, that blond woman that works for BJ taking the bids and signalling back to the auctioneer is not too bad looking either.
