Any one else notice that the Orbitz travel agancy commercial "Ahhh, the Hernandez..es...es" has been edited now to sound "normal"?

When I first saw the commercial I immediately busted out laughing because of the intentional mispronunciation.   Just Googled it and it seems like it had been edited because Hispanic activists were "offended" by the character on the commercial saying, "Ah, the Hernandezes..ez..es".

Gimme a break.  I guess if Sesame Street is now offensive why not a guy in a funny suit riding a hovercraft....

My wife and I are going to change our last name to Hernandezezez and then sue for discrimination.

They are not from Jersey or even real shore people. Nobody I have met from Jersey is like those Guido fist pumping idiots. They are really a bad representation of NJ and Italians.

This is true...as usual the NY'ers make us look bad, but it's funny as all hell. Even the guy who hooked off on Snokie was from NY...and a school teacher at that.

And come to Bloomfield or Belleville (or Nutley or Livingston). There are Guido's just like these guys. Not as tan, but still "connected" if you catch my drift.

Good...your IQ is still intact. I think mine has dropped a couple of points for every episode I've watched.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - MTV is getting more pressure to cancel its "Jersey Shore" reality show.

The latest criticism comes from the New Jersey Italian American Legislative Caucus, which says the show promotes derogatory ethnic stereotypes and is "wildly offensive."

In a letter sent Tuesday to the president of Viacom, MTV's parent company, caucus chairman Joseph Vitale asks that the show be immediately taken off the air.

The state lawmakers also have asked advertisers to boycott the show, which focuses on eight tanned 20-somethings and their escapades in Seaside Heights, a popular New Jersey beach town.

On Wednesday, a Viacom spokesman referred a request for comment to an MTV spokesperson, who did not immediately respond. MTV has said its intention is not to stereotype or offend.

I swore off MTV quite a years ago, so I have no idea what's on there anymore, or what this show is like. :scratchchin:

Kinda gave up on it after they switched from music videos with some lame t.v. shows to über-lame t.v. shows with some music videos (i.e. Shot @ Love w/hypersexualized-slutty-girl-of-the-moment, or My Super Sweet 16).  :rotz:

Now it's more SCTV, as in S#*tty Culture Television IMHO. :D

I prefer the John Candy variety SCTV myself.  :icon_smile_big:

Sorry, I got a soapbox for Christmas.  :nana:
