You can do this, free, on Microsoft.com..  (I'm still running XP)

What I'm wondering is simple -- Those of you using Windows Live Mail, what do you think of it?? After many years of using Outlook Express, how do you like the look/feel of Live Mail??

I'm on the fence... Which in itself makes me think I won't stick with it.

Yeah, the more I use it, the more I'm disliking it...  I was hoping it would grow on me, it's just not...

my new laptop came with an upgrade from vista to 7. i didn't like vista and the 7 upgrade just got here so this weekend i did the upgrade. so far i like 7 but it doesn't come with an email program. live was a free download so i have it now and did manage to get it to work so i can get all my emails on 2 computers and with 2 email addresses. I just can't get it to blend all the emails from both address together into one list like I have outlook express doing on my xp machine. i have received emails from people with live and have not been fond of receiving them. they seemed to want to take over outlook and were dificult to forward. it took me awhile to figure out sync replaced send receive. i'll know better in a while if i like it.

I have a LIVE email addy. but it is for those hidden pics that Ponch use to send me. haha... I had outlook and it was ok. LIVE kind of sucks. I use mozilla THUNDERBIRD... For the most part I like it but I have a few issues that I have not quite got the hang of yet. Making files and adding features I WANT are on my list of things to figure out. For the most part I really like THUNDERBIRD. Best part is that it's free and a highly rated company. I have VISTA and IT BIGHTS MULE BRITCHES.... I sort of can't wait for this thing to really crap out so I can move into W-7... I hear nothing but great from owners and computer geeks... Give Thunderbird a try Jeff... I think it was Troy that turned me on to it...

I have been using Windows 7 for a while now and to me it really is just what Vista needed to be. I know everybody is very excited but that is just because Vista was a worthless piece of crap, if you look at it objectively than it's an ok OS, but not spectacular in my opinion. My machine had Vista on it when I got it and I got rid of that in 2 weeks. Than I went back to Windows XP x64 which I used until Windows 7 came out. To be honest it looks nice and fancy but sometimes I still miss my XP x64 it was just so basic and did everything I needed it to do with the minimal effort. Also the memory footprint of XP is considerably lower so it was much faster.

To be honest I have to agree with Steve P. Microsoft can barely make a good paid program so it's hard to expect them to make a usable free program. Try Mozilla Thunderbird I tried it once, but I really just stick to web based e-mail clients so they are not very useful to me. Microsoft's Outlook (not express) works good though, I used it while I did an internship and have really grown to like it.

I agree on the Windows 7 front.

Most of my email accounts are online these days. For the ones that aren't, I use Thunderbird at home (which replaced my Outlook Express) and Outlook at work. I think I tried Live once and didn't care for it. That was probably right when I set up my Vista machine - which I've had absolutely no problems with (64 bit Business Edition with 8 GB of RAM).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
