Well, i've had nearly 250 mopars, and 133 chargers, but oddly enough, i've never owned a 66-67 fastback charger.. until today! it is a VERY solid car, 383 4 barrel originally, now has a 71 440 in it, runs and drives, but needs some work. it came with fender tag, original dealer invoice and window sticker.  just excited i've never had one of these. i always disliked them compared to 68-70's, but in the last year or 2 they've really grown on me, as they are different looking and have an aura to them all their own. here are a couple terrible pics of it i'll work on getting more. not sure what the plans are for it, i think it would make a really cool daily driver.. not crazy about the beige color though. red would be killer. opinions welcome. oh and price?? i'll just say under $2000.   :D

thanks for the comments guys! and the link. i found out it was built 7/05 so it's one of the last fastbacks built. pretty cool. here is the only other pic i have right now, it's the only one that was on craigslist where i bought it.. crazy but the window sticker on this car was $4200 bucks. pretty high for a 383 car in '67. the dealership sold it to the original owner for $3500, but hand written on the back they subtracted $1900 so he must have traded something in. He didn't finance the remaining $1600+ so he must have paid cash. pretty cool.

Nice car man, I know what you mean about them growning on ya. I'm starting to anymore like them also and I was mostly into the 2nd gens.

A383Wing

I would leave it the original color...but that's just me...would be interested in seeing fender tag pic and pics of interior also

Charger440RDN

Congrats on the purchase. I was never really crazy about the first gens either, until I saw one at a car show this past summer. They really are unique cars, especially the interior.

ODZKing

Welcome ... and Topher already posted the link so we look forward to seeing you there as well.
The first gen id unique in many way ... which also comes with unique problems sometimes.  But, that's why we're here to help.  Good Luck.

Congratulations

Yo Trav..
1st's are cool.. For them though, you wanna fill up those wheel wells.. I have a friend with a red 1st generation with Crager SS's 15x8's and 275's on the back and 255 or 245's on the front. It has a GREAT stance.........

Check out these pics as well to get some ideas......

:iagree:  What Lee said...

I was oblivious to them before 1999. Got my first one at the end of 2000. Got three more in 2002. Started the 1966-67 Charger Registry in 2003. All downhill from there.

Nice car. I always kind of shunned the 66-67 B-bodies. Then I bought my 66 Hemi Coronet 500 about 5 years ago. I love the car and the non-attention vs 68-70 cars has worked in reverse for me. I'm thinking of adding a 66-67 Hemi Charger to the fleet now, kind of an anti status thing.

My 66 was born white and bought red. I had it painted black ( bad job) cause thats what I really wanted at the time. When it comes time to redo- it will be a tough decision weather to stick with black or go back to the original white.

Can't bring that up without reminding him of the high voltage AC jolt the dash lighting can give you.  :scared:

Yea...do not tongue test the little white wire!

Ghoste

And now that you've been forewarned you may as well also know that at least one jolt is inevitable.  It's all good though because it's part of the fastback rite of passage.

Topher

Why do you guys keep telling people to not touch the white wire? I say that he NEEDS to grab the white wire and take video to prove to us that he actually did it. Seriously, the twitches and wetting of pants stops after a few months, but the tourette-ish outbursts of profanity lasts far longer.

Touching the white wire isn't so bad, but pulling your arm out from under the dash that fast will do some damage.
