For the holidays....

Anyone one else here going to be alone for them? Just curious. My kids are with their mom this year in Florida. I get them back January 6th. And my mom wants to be alone this year since my dad died. Although, for the past 20 years or so, they really never celebrated the holidays anyway. Oh well.

We'll hit the local Christmas Buffet on Xmas Day with the wife's family.

We'll take my sister and her husband to the local Chinese buffet one of the days

that we're off work.

The rest of my family is either dead, or I've permanently disowned them.

No parties.

No trees.

No lights.

No decorations.

No presents.

Nothing.

I never have set anything up for Christmas ever. When I was married, My then wife did it, but I refused to help. My parents just stopped getting into the holidays after around when I turned 10 or 12 or so. And after I moved out, they stopped celebrating it altogether. As a adult, I could care less about them. My kids are going to be the same way. My 15yo already is. And since my ex left me, I have never had anyone to spend the holidays with anyway.

I ABSOLUTLY HATE CHRISTMAS MUSIC too. The same 1000+ year old songs, done by new people every year. But it is still the same song. YUK!!!!

Now that said, I do buy my kids gifts. I'm not totally heartless.

I just think the holidays (all of them around the year) are over blown, and a reason for the drinkers to get drunk and party.

I appreciate and understand where you stand and I beleive the holidays...Xmas, Easter etc, have become so commercialized that the original meaning has been lost. If its all about spending money and going into debt what's the point? If it weren't for my grandkids I'd spend the cash on my Charger.
