How would I mount the alternator bracket on a 383 without A/C. I know how it was mounted with the A/C on my car but for some reason I can't figure out how everything will bolt up. A picture of how everything looks when its on would be great.

Here is a stock set-up. Bracket kits are available.

Thanks. Looks like I have to get a new bracket for it to work.

If you're converting from A/C you'll need the bracket and different pulleys.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

So I will need these parts from 440 source to make it work.

Not externally - just the impellors - either pump would work fine.

Uh, no it won't...if you use an AC pump on a pulley system for a non-AC car...water will cavatate inside and engine will over heat...been there, done that.

bear

Really? All the water pumps I see on summit's site don't indicate A/C or non A/C. I have the high volume one from them right now.

A383Wing

Not sure about the after market pumps....the OE pumps are different...those will not work in the opposite situation....for about a year I had a non-AC water pump on an AC car....was overheating constantly....found out the non-AC pump was getting spun too fast and water was being cavitated by the impellers

The only thing that will change pump speed is pulley diameter,6 blade pump will move water slower than 8 blade.

True. I have rebuilt whatever style of original casting I can get my hands on - I have used both types with no problems. I have always used these on non-AC cars though, so I can't make any comments on the other combo.
