Does this belong on my '71 SE?

This was in the trunk when I bought the car along with a broken fan shroud the didn't fit the radiator in the car. It looks like some kind of splash shield but didn't seem to fit under the car. Measures 34" wide. Any guesses?

Haven't seen anything like that on mine, adn it was a "survivor" when I got it.

Wish I could pin down what it is if it's vintage. That way I could put it up for sale and raise some money to put back into the car.
