We're working on the inside as I type this.....outside, I'm nowhere near done

Last week on Monday I put up the stuff on the ground.  The next day I was putting up the icicle lights and the UPS lady came, stood up to tell her I would be right down and then fell off the roof.  Luckily I had enough thought before I was totally off the roof to give a little push off of the house so I didn't land on the slate rock that bordered the flower bed to the left of the front door.  A little hint for anyone who decides to fall off of a high place, try to tuck and roll once you hit the ground.  It seems to have absorbed a lot of the impact of my fall and I really did not have any major injuries aside from sore muscles the next day.  Oh, this was off the roof behind where the see-saw is located to the left of the tree in the front yard.  Thankfully it was not the high section of the roof over the black top and garages.  That just plain would have hurt.

Sadly, Chris, no.  She did not look anything close to that.  

Thanks for the compliment on the house.  The fire truck is new for this year.  I think we are done for new stuff for a while and with any luck, we can get our savings account back up to where it used to be.

Also, no offense, but you would NEVER get me up onto your upper roof to put up those icicle lights.  Heights and me don't get along.  I am ok on my roof except where the driveway is.  When I am over that area, I am a little shakey.

Its not that bad....I climb out the bedroom window onto the porch roof & hoist up the ladder from the steps & use it to reach the top roof.....believe me Im not too proud to admit that Im scared shit of heights

I used to  be fine with heights but in recent years I just can't do them anymore .  I have vertigo bad now .

Its funny, people laugh at me in the fire dept when I say I have a thing against heights.  They always ask why the hell did I join the fire dept if I was scared of heights.  My answer : 1) I joined the rescue company cause they go from the inside up, 2) after I transferred out of the rescue company and into an engine company again, since they go to the fire from the inside up.  Also, when I have had to go up a ladder or onto a roof during a fire scene, for some reason it does not bother me as much probably cause I am focussed on the job at hand.  If I had time to think about what I was doing, I probably would end up saying F this! and go about it some other way.

Thanks, I got the giant bow figuring I could do a nice Christmas card one year with the charger but the background didnt work out as I planned it.  I'd have to have a really wide telephoto lens which I don't.

Son of a.... I think someone stole our light up Frosty from the front porch.

I'm trying to turn the thing on with my remote and it's just not working. Yet, I hear the click of the relay in the outlet module.
I think maybe my wife pulled the plug on her way to work because it was hanging or something. No. It's just gone. They took the extension cord too.
But left the lighted wreath that was plugged in to the same extension cord. Maybe they had one already.

Sadly, I think I know where to look first. The neighbour's son - who is a half decent kid - has a friend that is responsible for the other half being not-so-decent. I'd suspect that friend before anyone, he's such a piece of work. I think it's time for a walk through the neighbourhood.

thats why they say in the instructions that you should clear off any snow or ice before having them get inflated.  Its a pain in the ass but for the price of what those damn inflatables are, I can only afford them once.

My wife is making me look for him. 
I didn't think too much of it when I discovered him gone - other than, "What else are they poking around in?" - but she reminded me that even though it's a piece of plastic with a light bulb in it, he's a pretty unique piece in the sense that we have never seen one like around here. The most unique thing is that he's holding a real kid's snow shovel - wood handle and all.

She also reminded me that we've had him for over 20 years. The kids have always measured themselves against him to see how tall they are. Two grand daughters are well past that now. Our grandson is just about to get "taller than Frosty" and his baby sister will never have the chance.

She actually called the police and reported it and then made me walk around the immediate neighbourhood to try and find him. I figured if it was kids goofing around, it'd be in the park, so I went that far and called off the search.

My wife reported it and waddya know... got a call from the police tonight.
Someone found a Frosty on their front yard and called it in. They sent a car over to pick it up.
It's the only one they've found and we're the only one who filed a missing snowman report and he was found in our area. So, while it's not certain that it's our Frosty, the odds are pretty good.

My wife has to go to the station tomorrow morning and claim it. 

We're pretty sure there's some chuckling going on at the station right now. i know I was laughing my ass off. You'd swear she lost a puppy or something.
At the same time, it'll be a feel-good story for the constables and officers involved.

When she went to reception at the station, she said she was there to claim some property. The receptionists asked, "Are you the snowman lady?" 

She brought a box of chocolates as a thank you, but they had to refuse them. They had a food drive bin, though, so it was put in there.
