The engine is worth a lot more than the car. You can sell a 68 hemi engine for $15-20,000 and if you drop the hemi in a 2nd gen you could have a car worth $50,000 plus

Honestly....after 74 everything went luxury. I think a Hemi in a 77 would have that cool WOW factor...but id go with either a 1'st-3rd gen to put it in. Especially 3rd gens...always look awesome with a hemi under the hood.

Just plan on seriously reinforcing the body for that Hemi. A '77 360 did not make much in the way of power. I know it was nothing close to what a '68 426 actually puts out(not the advertised HP/TQ)

In the mid 80's a Dr. put a 426 Hemi in a Cordoba. Search Car-Craft or Hot-Rod magaine issues, you'll find it. It was cool, but also lame. It was his daily driver I believe, but still..... ::)

Congrats on your findings.

In the mid 80's a Dr. put a 426 Hemi in a Cordoba.

There was one of those in Bridgewater here. And old Mopar guy from back in the 30s or 40s or so had a about 4 acres of all things Mopar. Tons of high po stuff. I remember he had a stack of 10 or 12 Swinger/GTS hoods alone. Like candyland for Mopar lovers. Anyway I did see his 426 in a Cordoba. He told me the 426 hung off a chain on a tree for years. Waited for a car he liked (and he had lots of Chargers, runners, bees, Demons, Darts to have used - probably somewhere in the neighbourhood of 120-150 hi-po cars) but put it in a Cordoba.
A few years later I took my son down to see his place but he had passed on and the place was cleaned out. Never did hear for sure what happened to the approx. 4 acres of stuff. Some locals said the dumpsters were working for weeks, other said it was a free for all. I know it was the biggest non-commercial Mopar hi-po junkyard around. Wished I had taken a camera.

List of things that would be cool with a Hemi:

'69 Charger - duh

'77 Charger - smoke 'em if ya got 'em (tires that is)

A new Nissan 350Z - I'd drive it

Any motorcycle - I wouldn't ride it, but I'd like to watch someone go down the strip

Go cart - gimme a helmet!

Lawn mower - I think the wife's gonna hate those ruts in the yard

Prius - this one's a stretch, but hang with me.  Firewall behind the front seats, blower sticking through the roof,  zoomie headers sticking through the quarter panels   WHEELSTANDER!  It's funny cuz it's wrong.

Pontiac Aztec - you could um,...um,...okay so maybe you have a point G-man

The only 440's that I know of that have heavy recipricating weights would be the HP engines with those heavy SIX PACK rods...As for the "LY" Pass. car rod engines, they are all pretty much the same As far as I know..
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

bull

Not to piddle on the campfire but how long has this engine been sitting around collecting rust/dust? It's cool that you got a real Hemi but speaking from experience you might want to carefully consider your options before trying to drop it in and roll so to speak. First off, someone might actually pay you a large sum of money to own this thing since it falls within a desirable date code range. Second, if it's been sitting for years, unless you rebuild it or at least carefully inspect it you run the risk of damaging it badly enough to junk it if you just try starting it up. I'm just sayin' this isn't some run-o-the-mill V8; it's pretty much the be-all legendary American powerhouse and if it were me I'd be treating it like, well, something very special. It's cool that you got a real Hemi but speaking from experience you might want to carefully consider your options before trying to drop it in and roll so to speak. First off, someone might actually pay you a large sum of money to own this thing since it falls within a desirable date code range.
