OK..so due to a fender bender and a generou payout from the insurance company the ol Scow is getting an ass-end redux. New Quarterpanels, dutchman, etc. yesterday we stripped the car in preparation:

roof looks great-big relief. drip rails are fine. as well ( new drip rail trim has been ordered)

looks sad..new pants soon!

the new AMD 1/4s do not have the stripe delete R/T badge holes so we measured them up and took lots of pics...so the new badges go correctly

everything was carefully grouped, bagged and tagged for easy reassembly. this is me 2nd go around, but still....

rear window and trim was shot and glued on...so new stainless trim and a new backglass have been ordered, as we;; as a fresh bottom support rail.

took 3 of us to strip the rear of the car 7 hours....including pulling the gas tank and exhaust ends.

more pics as I can.

Looks like a pretty good dent in the rear of that new qtr.  Inquiring minds want to know.... you or them and the results if you called customer service, etc.....

Thanks for the pictures and turn on the noise redux on your camera or drop the ISO, that grain is blinding, :nana:

Can't wait to see more progress.  :2thumbs:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I noticed that too. If I paid $750+ for a quarter I'd expect it to be in perfect shape when it arrived.

Now, I didn't write that to start a big hubub about the quarter. I'm just curious to see how it was handled at the CS level.. He can possibly get some money back, it's what we used to do with our supplier at the body shop.  It's fixable and the hassle of having to get another and hope that's perfect, it can get real frustrating.  Sometimes it's easier to just repair it and take a little cash, etc...

Let's stay on point there troops...hahaha  :2thumbs:  :icon_smile_big:

the boxes seemed perfect when they arrived. the guy doing the actual work says 'no problems at all' correcting flaws. he is a top notch sheetmetal guy (used to work at Brizzio's doing like 250K 32 fords and mercuy's etc. before opening his own shop)

btw..we will be leading the factory seam etc as well. not bondo.

pix are crappy its an iphone...

All my 68s but one have leaded roof seams. The last body shop I had one in told me they were going to melt it out and replace it with filler. :eyes:

after inspecting the quarters-no dents! it looks like a dent due to the reflections and the fact that those pices are from the backside. i was very relieved.
