Drive shaft question?

I am looking at getting a new driveshaft built for my 69 RT Charger, I have a driveline vibration that I am trying to get rid of, I took out the shaft and measured it and its about .050 out of whack in the middle so I was looking at replacing the tube but the factory tube is 3.250 diameter and necks down to 2.750 but the aftermarket tubes are straight only. Is there a reason the factory necked down the driveshaft tubes? I am looking at finding a bigger diameter yoke for the rear so I it will match the front yoke for diameter so I can make a driveshaft. Can a person somehow straighten and rebalance the original shaft?  Anybody have other suggestions, it seems nothing is easy.

My car has had the same problem since the Day I got it on the road.
Took the shaft in twice to have it balanced ( different companies )
I think My vibration may be in My torque converter. :shruggy:
Not sure about the size down.
Will be interesting to learn about this. :popcrn:

one thing to check is the propper tight on tranny to engine bolts, and engine to tranny bolts. They are not hard to come loose. I found that once and solved at least BIG PART of the vibration.

has been told the next deal is the tail shaft bushings.
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

yes the shaft can be straightened and balanced.  I think the reason for the smaller diameter weld yoke is for cost. Check out our website.
