A guy named Ron Ashley was the high bidder on my Charger and refuses to Call me, e-mail or PAY me.

Daytona R/T SE

Maybe we should drag his ass down here to southern Illinois, and teach him some

manners. :spank:

I know a place.... :misbehaving:

I live in Bloomington, IL which is about 28 miles from Peoria. I go up there all the time to gamble, it's a decent sized city, with a riverfront and a casino.

I am going up there this weekend.  It's about 2 hours from me.  Do you want some one to give him a call?

That would be awesome if someone did call him. I guess he knows my area code and number and won't answer my calls. You guys are great.  The jerks name is Ron @ 309-648-6990 or 309-694-4711

I thought Peoria, was 217 area code.  I will try to call, just ask what his plans are on the car?  I take it we are talking about the petty blue 72?

Here is what he finally writes.>>> Just got back in town I thought you knew from our conversation on the phone.
In your add you say you can drive it anywhere and when I talked to you you said you wouldnt trust driven it 8 hrs away. Sorry but I was looking for a car I could drive anywhere.
Thanks but no thanks
Here is my response>>>
Car will drive anywhere, come get it. You bid and won. This is not a game. Car is 38 years old, never been restored. I have a e-mail from you saying you wanted a car to restore wilth your son. You want a guarentee on diving it anywhere, your nuts. I was only trying to be nice and volunteer my time and bring it to you.  You never said anything about going out of town and you had my number. Honor your bid.

Charger440RDN

What is with these retards thinking they can hop in a 38-40 year old UNRESTORED car and just drive it across the country? Don't people have common sense anymore?  :brickwall: :brickwall: Even if it runs you still should trailer it home if it's that old and unrestored.  :rotz:

A buddy of mine is selling an original unrestored 1968 Cadillac on ebay and some idiot emailed asking if the car would make it from Illinois to West Virginia. Why would you even try to drive it that far??!?  :brickwall:

ACUDANUT

Yea, and to think he wanted me to come 500 miles one way, with no deposit as stated.  Does anyone think I was being dishonest here ?

I think its clear that you say, it runs and drives...but is in need of a resto. It should be clear that the car can be driven around the farm, but i wouldnt go driving it 500 miles!! What an idiot.

In all actuality, I don't see it breaking down. It should "go anywhere" I just hate to make promises that I can't make.
Bronze. No offense, but your only 16 years old and have long way to go to catch up with us old timers.

I don't see how being 17 has anything to do with this.

hell, i'd drive it 500 miles....but i'm a serious car nut and i'm no stranger to road-side repairs  :D
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

I wouldn't mind a little road trip either.  It would be fun. It's fast for a 318. Maybe in, 5-10 years they will worth what the 68-70 Chargers are today. :shruggy:

Ghoste

ACUDANUT

Well, I have opened a dispute case with e-bay, about the Non-paying bidder (like it's any good) have have to wait 4-5 days before I can relist it.
The Jerk will not respond to the open dispute or try to make things right.  Isn't E-Bay great.  :brickwall:
Thanks for everyones input.  I hope this does not happen to you.  You know what gets me is, that it was only a 3 grand car. Not piece a piece of junk from BK auto that goes for 3 times that (and more)....10 times that for a running car.

lisiecki1

if i could afford to i'd come get it this weekend!  sorry to hear about your troubles......
