493 pump gas build from PRH

Here's a nice pump gas 493 build from Dwayne's shop. This engine was built to go in the customer's Station Wagon with all power accessories. It's been in the car for a few years and trouble free. 

The specs :

stock 440 block
square decked with BHJ fixture
bored & honed with deck plate
custom Diamond pistons, 16cc inverted dome, zero deck height
10:1cr
Ohio Crank 4.15 crank
Ohio Crank 6.76 rods
ARP main studs
Hemi pan, 1/2" pick-up

Edelbrock 84cc heads
hone guides
PRH valve job, back cut valves
Stage 1 porting (280-ish cfm)
Edelbrock springs, retainers, locks

Comp solid flat tappet cam;
282/284 @ .020
250/254 @ .050
.371/.375 lobe lift
112lsa, installed at 108 c/l
Crane 1.5 ductile rockers
lash set at .018/.018 hot

Holley SD intake, no porting
2" Hooker S/C headers w/3.5" X 18" collector extensions
PRH HP 950 carb on a 2" Super Sucker

Yep, stock blocks work fine in the 550-600hp range. If you're looking for more power...and want it to live....the aftermarket block is your best investment.

That does look like a nice motor.  I hve been contemplating a build and am looking for some direction on what to do.  Ron, you seem to be the resident genious with this stuff, so how would you like to recommend a setup for a fellow Canuck   I have a 69 440 block, thats it.  I think the power I'm after is pretty much as detailed in this thread.  What should be on my shopping list in your opinion?  If I could call on your expertise, it would be much appreciatted.  I will be having a local machine shop put it all together for me as I think it is beyond my capabilities.  What do ya think?  Thanks.
