And as far as attacking people, the only people I've attacked are those talking about the government conspiracies to seize control through global warming or other such idiocy.

Conspiracy? I don't think there's any conspiracy of governments to grab power and take money, at least not in a way dictated by the popular definition of the word conspiracy. Despite the smoke and mirrors most government officials are pretty blatant about the desire they have, collectively or individually, to grab as much power and money as they can. I really don't think they care about conspiring or being clandestine about it. They jack up your taxes, pass laws that transfer power from the individual to the collective and then laugh in your face. Sure, they're supposed to be servants to the people but they're anything but. You're not really going to sit there and tell us that government officials are benevolent and misunderstood servants of the people who are not trying to grab all the money and power they can by whatever means available, are you?

alas, none of our petty bickering on this site will amount to crud because we waste too much time here instead of typing to our representatives (who dont give two hoots about us anyway).

At least we're not wasting paper. :shruggy:

Let's create a crisis, pass some laws, and control people. It's all about power.

Gosh, kinda sounds like the Bush 43 administration. I suppose it wouldn't be de rigueur to point out that most of the GW naysayers were bush supporters.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Yea? Maybe. So what? You might be shocked to learn this but "conservative" does not equal "Bush supporter" necessarily. No one has mentioned any politicians by either name or party until now. You trying to get it locked?

There still hasn't been an answer to the question of the presants of proof to all this climate change. If it exists, and if it is caused by humans. Why should we allow people from other country's to steal money out of are pockets.
If you want to research it, that's OK. I'm not going to stop you, but just do it on your own dime. Heck, if you do prove it's real, you'll be a hero. Maybee get nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. That would be wonderful to see somebody earn it for a change.

And most liberals seem to be believers in man made climate change theory.  Nixon created the EPA and Bush gave them double secret unlimited mega-power.
Democrats only eat chocolate.  Not true, it's just because the evil Republicans stole all of the vanilla.  The sky is falling the sky is falling and it's all Obama's fault.  So now what?
People tell me it's only about the science but then somebody comes along and wants to attach a political affiliation to it and then expect me to be open minded about accepting the unproven theory.  ::)

You forgot to mention they are also the ones that believe that 9/11 was an inside job and that OBL really is just a poor misunderstood individual.

I don't think anyone will dispute that climate change has been around forever. What the majority of people have a problem with is the government trying to cram down our throats that it is man made and instead of actually doing any research on it they are trying to take everything that "MIGHT" contribute to it and claim it as gospel, all the while taxing us into oblivian. They are creating a crisis to cash in on it. Drop a strand of hair into a hay pile and you have a comparison in what humans contribute to any climate change. Do we contribute to it? Technically you could say yes but we didnt start that pile of hay.  Besides if anyone actually reads the bible and belives what it says, you'll see that all the tax money in the world will not stop it.

Yeah, right, and conservatives are the ones that protest outside war veterans' funerals.  Don't start that crap, there's plenty of crazy to go around.

Well said Bull.  I might believe the conspiracy is by the greenies more than our elected officials.  I do believe that the people at the copenhagen summit want US dollars for this farce.  I know our reps are more concerned with finding the highest bidder on any given topic.

Let's take it down a bit guys.. I'm enjoying most of this, but I have had a few LOCK IT issues sent to me. We are on the fringe here and to keep it going we need to respect each others opinions and leave the political stuff out.

You might be shocked to learn that the majority of people who describe themselves as Conservatives are just plain old right-wingers. A true Conservative would be insulted to be linked with the right wing.

My comments weren't meant to bring up politics (that was already in full swing) but merely to point out that belief systems tend to follow a predictable path.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Yeah, let's 'cool' it on the political side of this argument and stick with the science of it.  :yesnod:

Here's an interesting look at the long term in regards to climate change:

http://www.stuffintheair.com/ancient-climates.html

It brings up the fact that a great many of the arguments in favor of man-made global warming are not looking at the long term.

Case in point being that ice core data can only be factor for the last 2/3's of a million years, whereas the Earth is 4.567 BILLION years old.

That right there tells you that at one point there was no long term ice on the face of the planet.

Earth's climate is a cyclical thing, and there are many factors at play.

Sun cycles, ocean currents, volcanoes and other things we more than likely have no grasp of at this time.

The science of climate change is in its infancy.

Case in point being the hysteria surrounding the possibly of global cooling in the mid 1970s.

Here's an article that touches on that hysteria:

http://www.forbes.com/2009/12/03/climate-science-gore-intelligent-technology-sutton.html

I truly believe that there should, and must be, continuing research into the theory of global warming.

But on the reverse of that coin, I think it is also of great importance to not rush into a theory (i.e. man-made global warming) wholesale without peer review and on going scientific testing.

I'll wrap up my post with this interesting read into the skewing of the data supposedly supporting man-made global warming:

Thanks for reading my opinions.

Waching the BBC last night. Sound's like the talks at Copenhagen are stalled. It seems that one group thinks developed and wealthy country's should foot the bill. While a country like China, which is mining coal from the largest man made hole on the plannet feels they should be exempt, at the rate there going there energy consumption will triple. So anything other country's do probably won't even matter.
