Last 440 Charger built???

There is a story in the January 2010 issue of Mopar Collectors Guide about a 74 Charger Rallye that was sold new through Mr. Norm's and is allegedly the last Charger built with a 440.  Given MCG's tendency to sensationalize every car they photogrpah and occasional missing of facts I thought I would ask.  So 3rd gen fans, do any of you know about the car and it's claims?

Got the article on it?

Honestly, what runs through my mind....who cares? OK, great so it was the last 440 Charger built....does it make it any more special then the other 74 440 Chargers build before it?   :shruggy:

I don't subscribe, but I was also looking for more info. I heard that the sequence number was in the 200 thousands but I have not heard the build date yet. Considering the slim # of 440 Chargers in 74 it sounded like it could be at least a possibility.

Who cares? Just us dorks

Only if it's is avocado green.  :eek2: Also, isn't the 74 440 only rated at 275 HP.

They based the claim of being the 'last built' on it having been built during the last week of '74 Charger production, and it being the latest serial numbered '74 440 car found by Galen.

I was being slightly facetious with the post.  There is a real possibility that the car could be the last 440 Charger built but you have to read well through the story until they admit that part.  Once again though, Galens name gets thrown around and just because it's the last one that he has recorded doesn't mean much.  It means more in this case than a lot of the number claims that are based off of his registry because of the last week of Charger production for 74.
Love the Avocado Greeen, weren't the mid 70's a great time for style?  We had appliances that color back then and gold shag carpeting in the living room.  :P
