How many "true" dodge engines have won championships?

How do I answer that and what kind of question is that? This came from someone who's into ford/chevy and was talking smack about my love of mopar. I don't really follow nascar much but I know the hemi was legendary. I'm not even sure what that question means.

Do they mean like how many 426 factory Hemi's have won races compared to lets say an aftermarket 472 crate Hemi?  :shruggy:

Just tell them,

"enough that Chevrolet put pressure on NASCAR and NHRA to ban Mopars in the early 70's, geez you'd think for someone who claims to know so much about cars you'd have at least enough historical knowledge to be aware of that".

I'm sure that if you tell them that it will only start more arguments for you and cries of  BS but at least you will have answered his question with the truth.

Just tell the idiot to Google: RICHARD PETTY  no other explaining will be needed :yesnod:

BigBlackDodge

Ask him what kind of motors they run in top fuel/funny cars.........................they're all hemi's and have been for decades! So they've been winning for years with zero competition from the brand x companies.

Ask him which driver has the most wins in NASCAR and what did drive for most of those wins?

Tell him "you're entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts," ya know what I mean?

The 426-based Hemi is the most admired and record-breaking motor since the flathead Ford.  Period.

If he tries to say that a modified Hemi isn't really a Chrysler motor anymore, tell him that Chevy motors do even worse on that measurement than the Mopars do.  Much worse.

What does he mean by "true"? Does he mean "production"? Modern NASCAR motors aren't anything close to what you can buy in a production car (from any manufacturer). That probably holds true for most forms of racing as well. The last time anyone raced with production equipments probably was in the 70s or 80s. As for Top Fuel, I think the Hemi dropped out of favor a few years back but, yes, for many years every car ran one - no matter who the sponsor/car brand was.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Since I'm simply not in race/competition world and I don't have all those knowledgement about, and since I have same chebby idiots around ( fords too but more chebby ), I answer something like: who cares, I have the cool factor what makes you to challenge me... You are not so important to me to challenge you. Leaders and important people will be allways challenged!

I simply enjoy my car and don't pay attention to those guys. They need to show to the rest they are more than the rest. I don't need to show anything ( maybe because I know I am the best ? LOL )

Back N Black

I think for the most part its a personality thing. I have friends that own Ford and Chevy muscle cars, They show interest in my car and respect what i have built, as i do with my friends. "Car guys" are passionate about their cars, no matter what make or model.

I know its a little off topic......

John_Kunkel

Top fuel still runs the hemi but it's not made by Mopar but many of the parts would interchange with the 426. Shucks, Ford even has it's own hemi in fuel Funny Car.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Cooter

Tell 'em what I tell 'em when the Brand "X" guys start raggin' on my Mopars...

"To build a Ford or a Chevy, all you need is a catalog...Too build a Mopar takes a "Real" man....."

If that doesn't work, go get you one dem 655 Cu. In. "Big Wedge" engines and ask them "How many Brand "X" cars with "True" engines can beat this monster?"
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

RD

if they are ragging on you, then they either:

1) dont have a car and want to talk shmack because they have a small member size

or

2) they do have a car, but its a 1981 trans-camaro with a 305 in it that is frozen up and sititng in their back yard.. which pretty much means they are the above #1 rule.

either way, when anyone wants to talk shmack on another brand in regards to who is the best or not, they are doing it because they know their brand is not the best.
