A Buddy of mine just sent me this Pic, Said the local dragstrip had it's last weekend open for the season 2 weeks ago & he seen this beat up Earl Scheib painted Daytona there doing low 14's in 1/4 mile. Wonder who owned it & if for sale?

Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.

I also seen the 70 style seats. And recall this daytona has a 70 interior and no daytona letters on its stripe

But are you unquestionably certain that is how it came from the factory?

b5blue

That's a 69 dash and door panel in those pics?

Check out the rear bumper Nascar filler also. Cool........
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

Ghoste

So based on the info in the other thread there is absolutely nothing to indicate that it came from the factory with a 70 interior.

hemi-hampton

Most low budget clones don't have the window plug it seems. That other thread/link makes it sound like Mopar-Heavens car possibly. Does he live in Michigan. Ghost dont you live near Flint? LEON.

Leon, do you mean "The Ghost" or "me Ghoste" (with an e)?  Because the other one is in Nevada and I'm the other direction.  Just outside of Windsor.

The shape of the back window does not look right.

hemi-hampton

No, You, Thought you lived near Flint, Michigan for some reason? LEON.

Ghoste

I've been there a few times but that's about it.  I have family in the Ferndale and Royal Oak areas so if you had thought I was from there...
We may have talked about Lapeer before?

hemi-hampton

I'm right next to Ferndale in south west Warren. LEON.

ramairthree

If it is real, awesome!
I have not rode in one since my parents sold ours when I was in third grade.
Having that car still is like a dream.

If a clone,
close to my much more realistic and probable dream,
except I plan for for streetable and mid 12s instead of low 14s.

And I think a 70 is the least expensive base to go for an exterior Daytona profile.

FJ5WING

the scoops look ok. :yesnod:
the hood has four pins.
the deck lid has no stripe unlike the pics dave posted where the deck lid had partial paint and just a thin area of orange.
i thought the front side marker looked funny but upon further review  :2thumbs:
wingless now, but still around.

FJMG

Sure looks like that car has a sunroof!

petercharger

does look like it has a sun roof...did they make daytona's with the sunroof option? I would assume yes..but wonder if and how many? :2thumbs:
best way to get a hold of me is brushcollege@msn.com...thanks

moparchris

That Daytona? looks like it has Superbird A-pillar wind deflectors.  Seems like it has the exposed mounting screws.
