a 1970 Charger is an XH code on the VIN?

I am looking around,
and know a driving XP car would be a lot less than a true R/T,
but am not familiar with XH,
and searches here for two letters are a little overloaded.

Thank you for any  information.

Other than in 68 and 69 there were 3 different Charger (not counting the XX of the 69 Daytona and 500) VINs in 1970. The base Chargers got the XH (= price class high) VIN, the Charger 500s got the XP (= price class premium) - the 500 package was totally different from 69 as it was more or less only a trim package in 70 - and the R/Ts got the XS (= price class special).

if XP makes you feel like you're driving around a lot less, then an XH will give you that feeling X2.. lol. XH was the base model, not rare, about as many built as 500's. However, in this day and age, just owning a 70 charger is cool, who cares what the VIN starts with, or the fact that it didn't have upper pads, and has a bench seat. I sure wouldn't pass up a good deal on a 70 charger if it started with XH. if you find the 70 you want, get it.

Put a great big wedge in there and think of it as a lightened Charger for the drags.  Like the Road Runner to the GTX or the Super Bee to the Coroent RT.  Instead of calling it a base model Charger, call it a Strip Charger or Charger Stripper.

thank you everyone.  I had thought of the XP as the base model,
and did not realize about the XH.

Heck, I have joked about "everyone with an XP with a bench seat, 318, and column shift that needs floor pans, trunk pan, rails, hood, roof, glass, and quarters thinks its worth a fortune because of what they saw the Hemi 4 speed sell for on TV"

I guess I will have to rephrase that for 70.
