Christmas came early for Pete today...
I went down to the auctions today and 2 vehicles were on the block.  A '73 Dodge motorhome chassis- 360/727/dana 60 and a '74 Dodge Charger, original 400 car with a 440/727/8 1/4.

I got the motorhome chassis for $37.50. That's $10.00 for the chassis and $27.50 for the document work.

Hope your sitting down for this one

'74 Charger for $52.50. $25.00 for the car and $27.50 for the documents fee.
I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking I got a super nice, rust free B-body but many of the parts are decent and I just can't go wrong with that 440 in there.

PICS TO COME!!!!!

What auctions?
City auction?
Dealer auction?
Police auction?

I check the police auction once in awhile but havent seen anything pop up lately.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

The auctions I go to are cars impounded from the mini storage places but they are few and far between.
(I've been waiting for 2 months for this one)

The last car I got was a '65 Barracuda and I'm still making money on that one plus I get to keep the parts I want.

I should have the pics this evening.....

Great score, I scan the auctions around here but have not found anything like that. Congratulations!

that is a 74 only option stratocaster

man, 52.50 for a 74 charger.  the parts alone would score a grand easy.  man, what a great catch and score!

It's in real nice shape too !!

In Arizona stuff like that doesn't last so it must have been garaged alot before the accident

greenpigs

I was gonna ask if it was a factory 440 car but I noticed the factory 400 post. Still it doesn't look THAT bad. I would clean it up and think about fixing it if that was at all possible. To get it for $50 it deserves to be saved...its a sign man!

Wouldn't a factory BB car come w/ an 8 3/4?  Real surprised to see it has an 8 1/4.  NEways, NICE SCORE!! :o

I think the unloved 9 1/4 rear was the high performance rear for '74 and I don't ever remember seeing a
8 3/4 in a '74 but maybe they came that way..
Think of a '74 Charger SE as a good looking '75 Cordoba. It's the same car with smaller bumpers. The 400 really couldn't hurt the 8 1/4 rears and the squishy isolated front suspension made the car more of a cruiser then a track monster

I always thought '72 was the last year for 8 3/4 B-bodies but I'm sure you guys would know better then me  ???

RallyeMike

The 440 cars came with 8-3/4's.   Not sure about 400/727, 360 and under in general, but the 400 4-speeds I've seen came with 8-3/4's as well.

So here is a couple of pics on the Motorhome chassis I got

360/727/DANA 60
I already have it apart and can't wait to drop it into a 'CUDA to see how it runs   :icon_smile_evil:

I really like the huge gas tank... that might look good under my doolie.

HOW 'BOUT THOSE ARIZONA SUNSETS!!        at the junkyard

My 73 400 se has an 8 1/4 rear end. Gotta  mild build 440(maybe 450hp?) in it now, guess I'll see how long it takes to grenade the 8 1/4.

'CUDA360

No buildsheet yet  ::)

I guess I need to take up the carpet or something  :icon_smile_angry:

Nice score!

That 440 looks clean. Do you know if it was gone through?

I will be working on that today. The rocker gear seems pretty clean in there and the blue paint looks fresh but that doesn't mean much...
Also, the radiator has regular water in it  :rotz:  no green stuff  :flame:
