WIW-triple black 68 383 4V-auto #'s match

Pictures pretty much say it all.

Excellent mechanical condition. Not sure on mileage, but the motor is original. Smokes a little at start-up. Originally drum brakes converted to discs. Under hood looks completely stock.

Nothing exotic about the car other than the color combo, which from what I understand is the original combination.

Sorry, no interior pics, but it is a console shift.

Restored at least 8-10 years ago, but holding up extremely well. I actually took these photos several years ago, but it doesn't look any different today except for a new set of magnums and reproduction red stripe tires.

Not for sale at the moment, but I was asked for a personal appraisal. Just a ball park figure.

Nice looking '68. A lot nicer than my '68 which I picked up for 20k 2 years ago during the boom. Still, in this economy it is probably a 17 to 20k car. The triple black is a nice/desired combo and will add a bit to it's price.  Post some interior shots, engine bay also, if you can get them. Nice plate, also.

Well, it's kinda beat up... and not many people like those colors on such a weak design.

You could probably get 200$ out of it, but if you want it gone I can kick you 150$ for it.

Yes. The owner was ridiculed for a long time over those tires. As I stated above, he has since installed some redlines. I think they are F70-14s now.

How is it underneath and in the trunk? Price is subject to things like all electrics working perfectly, suspension bushings, leaks sqweaks and rattles. The car looks fantastic so if all is in good order high book even with a puffy motor.

A fender tag picture would help address the value, and making sure it has one can be a large factor in
some cars.

Color combo is going to help it so far. smokes on startup means engine rebuild in it's forseeable future
Being non R/T and no mention of desirable options.

Low to MAYBE mid 20s IF you find the right buyer that has to have a triple black charger and is willing to accept it's down falls to get it

Good cars are selling if priced accordingly. I know of a couple upper level cars ( 100K and up ) that have changed hands in the recent past


But, with that said it's does look nice in black and has me thinking and the 68's are growing on me . Now can someone photoshop a white top on it for me,,,,,,,pretty please

I'd say around $30K --->    Honestly a little smoke is not a big deal - if it is as advertised it would a very desirable car -    Some people would be turned off by a little puff puff at start up - but honestly any collector would still buy it.

Damn Right!!!!!!  who cares what kind of engine work it needs.  Hell thats the fun part.     

I bought my car this summer knowing that in needed engine work, and i didnt care, that part is easy compared to body work.

Now that I've heard some other opinions, here's my  

I'm in agreement with Rolling_Thunder.

I think anyone who has really been shopping for a clean '68 would jump all over this thing if it were priced in the mid 20's. Clean, straight, rust free, numbers matching, big block gen 2 Chargers just aren't that easy to find, and this one is in exceptional condition. That's without factoring in the color combination.

Granted the market sucks, but I think he'd be nuts to sell it for less than 25. I personally had it pegged around 30... or better if he got lucky enough to instigated a bidding war.

From this crowd, I really expected to hear a least a couple sky high numbers.

I'm not in the market for one at this point, but I think I'd be kicking myself for years to come if I watched someone else buy it for $25K.
