So what are people's favorite color 2nd Generation Chargers? What about interiors? Is there a exterior color or interior color that would keep you from buying a Charger of that color?
I have struggled with this question for years. As it is tougher and tougher to find nice Chargers I find my stance has become less strong. I have always said I wanted a black interior. Period! Now I am considering all color combos.

Green paint on a Charger works in theory, but I don't like the factory shades at all.

I never could stand red interiors either.  On any car or truck.

bakerhillpins

Are you saying any colors, or just Factory colors?

As I have little experience with true factory colors its hard to say. I know I just don't like Green interiors. I would always buy black, but have always wanted a Deep/Midnight Blue with white stripe and white interior. No vinyl top. We owned a white car when I was young and it was a BEAR to keep clean though. So I wonder if I will actually go with a white interior in the end.

Ah to daydream.  :popcrn:

I like the 70 lineup of colours much better than 68-69, as I like High Impact colours much more, but I would consider any colour except blue or turquoise. If I bought a blue car I would eventually paint it, but I would NEVER buy a blue interior car, just doesn't work for me.

My favourite combo would be F8 green on black or green for a 68-69, and J5 lime on black for a 70, or triple black with a red stripe (which, in case you didn't know, only looks good on a 70, not sure why either ;D).

Really starting to appreciate tan interiors on red/orange/copper and even brown cars. Red and white interiors are OK. Beige would be my second least favourite colour, but on the right car, maybe??? You just don't see a lot of them.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Love T5, love white tops and stripes, don't favor greeen in anything except money.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I generally prefer T5s, but R4/black and triple black are not bad choices either.  I don't know if there really is a factory color that I dislike on a Charger, although some combinations do make you realize that there was significant drug use going on back then. (example: light yellow with a gold interior).....

b5blue

Best is b5blue in and out (like my 70) least would be yellow with green int.  :eek2:

66FBCharger

I like all the exterior colors available for the 2nd Gen. Chargers. They look great when the paint is new. The "earth tones" (browns, tans, beiges greens) are lower on my list. I wouldn't exclude any color if I found the right car (condition, drive train, options etc.).
I am sure all these cars looked great when new on the dealer's lot , no matter what color.
Don't forget tastes change. What kind of clothes did you wear in the 70's? Probably, polyester print shirts and leisure suits. I look at the pictures from when I was younger and think "What were we thinking?"
Sorry!! I got sidetracked!

I would have to say A4 silver and black interior and least would be the car I have triple green and not just any green F5.

b5blue

Blue jeans (bell bottom-flair-or stove pipe optional), t shirts, baggy surf shorts, chucka boots, sneekers, and "London Fog" jacket for chilly weather in FL. were standard fair 68-75. OH and I like 3X green Chargers!

Favorite....black with blue interior.

That sounds like an excellent combo but I don't recall ever seeing it. :shruggy:

Anyway, my favorite combo is black on black and generally I like dark colors on Chargers such as dark green, blue, dark red, etc. And I typically don't like light colors on them such as yellow, white, etc.

This color right here!  Yes it's mine and I ordered one identical to it in 1968.  Yellow was a very popular color back then.  At least in So. Cal.   Bob
