I have a 68 Charger  RT Auto.  i want to convert to 4-speed. The Z-bar bracket has a tab to properly position and weld to the frame rail.  i thought all the frame rails came thru with tab slot punched out. My frame does not have the slot punched out.  :brickwall:
Anyone know how i can mount this bracket in the correct positon without that slot ???

thanks  pete

Without looking at a factory 4-speed car, you would have to guess at the correct location....I've converted so many B-bodies that I know about where the factory welded it, but I recommend looking at another B-body.......

I could get some measurements and pictures from mine if you think it would help.  If I remember correctly there are some pictures already on this forum somewhere that show what you are talking about.

bolt the bell housing to the back of the motor remove ball stud from bell, screw in a piece of all thread long enough to reach the outside of the frame rail use two nuts and bolt the bracket to the all thread on the frame, weld a few spots then remove allthread and finish welding its pretty easy to do and works great.
