Any suggestions on keeping dehumidifier from frosting up?

I have a dehumidifier in my garage and I've noticed that is frosts up and gets a lot of ice build up on the outside. Any idea what causes this or how to correct it? It hasn't been that cold in Georgia yet. Thanks !

I had to return a few - they don't like it under 60-65 degrees.

You have to get a low-temp dehumidifier.

My old one used to ice up all the time in cooler weather, despite the fact that my

garage is heated.

It was useless in the winter time.

The low-temp ones are good down to 41 Degrees.

Since I keep my garage about 55 degrees when I'm not out there,

No more problems.

The low-temp ones aren't much more expensive that the regular ones.

Just look for "Low temp" on the box.

I had one in my basement of my old house. It would frost up if the dial was turned all the way, to basically run all the time. Try turning the dial about half way and see if that helps. First turn it off and let all of the frost melt.

This is the truth... My new LG unit says it'll run at 35 degrees no problem.. The other night it got down to 34 outside, but my garage (inside) stayed around 55.. It's been running (on it's cycle) 24/7 for the week I've had it with no issues.

Are you sure that its clean? The fins that is. I have to take my dehumidifier apart about once every 1.5 yrs and clean out all the dust. I have to bend out the rad core part and blow it out with the compressor. If I don't it freezes up.
