It's a 71 only color, also known as Curious Yellow. But it is very green in the shade.

Nope, just trying to make sure all the info is out there in case anyone else is looking at making a tribute one buddy. The world needs more DMCL Chargers a lot worse than more GL's.

Y3 is such a cool colour! I love lime cars, and I love yellow cars, and Y3 is just right in the middle, love it too.

I'm in the process of building a model of the DMCL Charger, so how wide and where does the black strip start and stop? also the 440 text, Khyron, can you post some detail photos showing close ups as a reference?

My goal is once I'm done with my R/T is to start a DMCL Charger.

Back in the 80s, I had a friend that would cruise Central in Phoenix and he had his car painted exactly like one.

Sure, when I get home I'll take some pictures and measurements on the stripe....

The key is that the 440 moved in possition on different cars. It should be over the marker lights on the side.

This is when I first put it in... but again, i'll get more accurate info when Im home. If it matters, Peter Fonda approved

This was also before my hood was done. Ignore the sixpack scoop

When he signed my car.... we walked around and talked about it, said he loved it and was dead on.... with the exception of the interior ;-) but he promised he wouldn't pic on me because of it hehehe

yes, Black interior most likely this winter. no AC though.... i have to draw the line somewhere heheheh

now on to the stripe.... there is about 2 inches extra in the measurements behind the 440 to add for some play and trimming on the quarter extentions and cuts for the doors.

Hello! I am new to this site. I saw the movie on dvd and it looks to be more green than yellow. Since the movie came out in 1974 maybe the car was repainted? If you look at the door jam in a few of the scenes, it looks like a mask job. Love the movie. Those are cool pics of the charger with Peter Fonda.

and it's on film lol, man Ghoste, you have no idea how sick i feel everytime i realize i walked away from it during a bitter divorce 11 months into the marriage in 1979. the fact she stole me blind came after her and her boyfriend hit the road where i sent them both. just because i confiscated the credit cards and cancelled all of them did not stop her from reopening them later after i had taken a loan and paid everything off. The the charger got paid off by the dealer i gave it to after she wrecked it but man , being too young at the time to think straight i wish i would have held onto my charger because in the end it would have been better to have kept it. Even now when i am thinking about it, i feel sick to my stomach. did i send you the picture i found from 1977 with the charger in the backround ? it was the picture i was looking for all this time.

I thought maybe the dvd would have an easter egg with the scenes, but i guess not. i was looking through my stuff and found a dirty mary crazy larry pressbook. I also found the original book "the Chase." I also found an original 35mm trailer for dmcl that they used at the theaters. I collected this stuff years ago.
