I was wondering if any one here or knows of somebody that bought two 70 SuperBirds from I think Aransas-Pass Texas at that time. The reason I ask is that they were both one owner cars and they were my mothers cousin cars. I have heard a lot of stories from my mom and dad about the cars. They were originally from Perry Iowa before they moved to Texas were they owned a Hotel. He passed away about 11 or 12 years ago and his mother sold them. I asked to late about them as she said if she knew I liked them I would be a proud owner of two SB. :brickwall: I know its a long shot but there are only so many SB :icon_smile_big:. I have pics and even old video of the old birds. If I remember right I saw them on Cars In Barns under the Winged Warriors, looked like the old Hotel from video I have. Both cars were Orange with black vinal and I think both had 440's one was a 4 speed and other auto. So if you know some one I would love to know how they look today and share stories and history! Thanks-Rich

I have an uncle down in that area and I remember seeing an orange Bird sitting down there many years ago. If my memory serves me right it was pretty rusty, even back then. I wish that I would have taken a picture, better yet I should have stopped and talked to them about it. Sorry to hear that you weren't there to take possesion of them before they were sold Magnum, sometimes timing is everything. I tell you, I've missed out on my share of deals as well.

I remember those cars' from years ago.  I remember stopping by on the highway to use the pay phone out front when I was an OTR driver.  IIRC asked about them too.  Gosh, that's been a long time ago.

Interesting read.  I have heard of these cars as well, but never seen pictures before.  Pretty cool.  Hope you can track them down.

I bought the car mentioned from Mrs Dorma Dean Robinson about 26 years ago. It's still an unrestored 42k orig mile ,matching #s, 440, 4spd car with the trailer hitch and Sears underdash A/C just like when they moved to Texas.
It's currently nesting in the Texas hill country in good care.
I'd love to hear the family stories about the car..

I live in Corpus and I've heard about these cars for decades!! Never got to see them until now. The legend goes that there were 4 or 5 of them sitting out there, and that a drug dealer owned them.  Thanks for sharing!!  It means a lot to finally see for myself.

Looking at the pics and of the ones at hotel I'm wondering if the car with the side pipes is the auto car? The headlight buckets are red and yours are black. Possible?
