I bought mine from DB electrical at E-bay stores.  Fits a 360 fine.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

there is a black cover on the terminal block , pop it off & undo the 2 nuts under the cover then there will be enough clearance to the block

those do need to be checked for clearance on big block engines and some do have issues. the casting area of the block that would be behind the starter where it is mounted are sometimes alittle thicker and need some of that area removed (ground off) or you can take some materal off of the starter itself.

if there isn't enough clearance the starter will be mounted crooked and forced it can break the mounting area off of the trans.

Once the terminal is removed they will fit. The clearance is tight but works fine.

Right but how do you secure it after? On mine there was no way to adjust it after you remove the nuts. So I trimmed the stud to get the clearance I needed. I don't plan on getting a MP starter again as the universal starter needs to fit B\RB mills a little better to get my $ again.

no remove the adapter block , the lower set of studs will clear the block

Actually you dont have to take off the terminal block, I tried mounting the mini starter with the terminal block still attached and it fit nicely (TTi headers) so I left it on..

Nic, do what Neil says. I ran into the samething on my mess. The mounting point that is a black plastic is for small blocks not BB.

:iagree:

What I did.  Had to fabricate a custom battery cable on my 1971 Charger R/T to make it work though, my original was to short to reach the studs with the routing I wanted to use.  Also had to pay close attention to the cables once tightened to the stud, to keep the cable's clearance maximized in relation to the TTI header tubes.
