It's not mine, but I figured I would pass along to anyone looking for a Daytona Clone

The Joe Dirt Daytona Clone is for sale

Joe, Let me tell you about the car. It's a 1970 Originally purple Oceanside California car. I freshened up a 440HP steel crank police engine and 727 trans, 8 3/4 rear, did the brakes etc. Buddy Griffin is a friend of mine that lives here, put one of his aluminum radiators in it, custom dynomax exhaust etc. We used a Vega hatch I found in Tennessee on it. 69 tail lights, 69 steering col. And moved ignition to dash with 69 wiring harness,
69 side markers etc. So...it looks like a 69 right down to the redone 69 seats. Great runner driver. Here's the neat part. When we were starting this project we found a original early solid WING at a swap meet! We used it for our mold for our Daytona kit. So included with car will be a new fiberglass wing in case the buyer wants to pull original off. $25,000 is where I would like to be which is about a break even. When we show the car we sell T-shirts with car on it as it pulls a crowd wherever it goes, that inventory will also be included. Let me know if you run across a Mopar collector looking for a fun car. Thanks,Rick

Aw man! I wanted to own the joe dirt daytona ever since I saw the movie!   :popcrn:

The Joe Dirt Daytona already had the back glass altered before the movie was made and the last I heard, it was owned by California Classix and being sold at B-J.
I'm confused. The timeline doesn't seem quite right. Is this the real Joe Dirt car? :shruggy:

The big question is...Will that make the original Joe Dirt Daytona clone worth less money?  :D

I would love to see a picture of it.  I loved the movie but would prefer a more polished version of the car :Twocents:

Rick ,

I purchased a Stinger kit back in 05 and had many issues and spoke to Artie many times . Great price but spent countless hours reworking side to fender and top of nose to hood also headlight doors are so warped that I had to pack in glass on underside so that when I removed 1/4 of glass on top side there was something to grind into . I have 25 years in F/G building and repairing offshore race boats and often thought about making poping a mold and making these in house with Vinyl ester resin , not cheap polyester garbage that everyone else uses that way you have next to zero shrinkage compared to Polyester resin that is forever shrinking . Curious to hear your response
