As far I know 2nd gens never came out with bench, just buckets and buddy seat. I think maybe just 70s got benchs but with bucket kind high back and arm rest.

Am I alright ?!

there is some ppl down here who claims have seen a 68 with column shifter ( 318 ) and BENCH...  :-\

Yes, 68 and 69 came standard with front buckets and in 70 you could get a split bench.  With the 68 and 69, if you had no console and ordered the buddy seat/armrest, it could easily enough appear like a bench to someone if the armrest was raised.  Someone could also have put a bench in one after the fact.

so I 'm right then.

changed to bench ? I doubt so, no one B body from where to get the bench with back release system, at least locally, since 3rd gens where all buckest down here.

Then my guess would be that they saw a 68 with the armrest in the up position.  The illusion would be even more complete if the car was a non-headrest one. :Twocents:

My base model '70 came with a full bench in front. No buddy seat, no highbacks, no split, no middle arm rest but it did have head rests. :yesnod: From what I understand the '70 500 was equipped the same as the base model '68 and '69 but the base '70 was stripped. No rear tail panel insert and (I believe) no black around the tail lights. No clock or tach (just a blank black plate with crosshairs), no upper door pads, no wheel well trim, etc.

The plain "Charger" model came this way in 70. The 500 was mid-level, but optioned like the 68-9 base models with buckets and pads standard. Likely a reflection of how they optioned Coronet R/T and 500 models similarly.

The Tic-Toc-Tak was optional across the line as was the clock so you could have those crosshares even on an R/T in 70.
