There are a lot of NOS 8.25 sure grip carriers showing up on Ebay and other web sites. Problem is they are all model 1's and unless you want to stay with a 2:72, 2:72, 323 or 3:54 gear and run Van axles stay away from them. Starting with a 3:55 gear the carrier case will hit the pinion and you can't get enough adjustment to set ring and pinion back lash. Model 2, 3:55, 3:90, 3:91, 4:10 and 4:88 gears. The only place I've found these are in trucks and vans with the best axle to use with it being a Dakota. Axle splines truck or car from 66 to 96 is 27 splines from 97 to end of production its 30 splines. Sense your going to need the axles to go with it a 30 spline will bolt in;however the lug holes in the axle will have to be re drilled. With all of this in mind it becomes very costly to run factory stuff in a 8.25. People like Summit and Mancini have sure grips that go inside of your open carrier and you don't even have to take it out for the convertion and they start under 400 bucks.
