After some searching and going out to see the car on the other side of the state, it will finally be arriving tomorrow!!!  I will be the owner of a 69 Charger  :icon_smile_big: woot-woot!!  This will be a project for the wife and I to complete...or complete as much as we can before I have to deploy next year.  The car was an origianl 318, but comes with a 400 motor.  I had to do some research because I had never heard of a 400 when I was growing up.   I wanted to step up to a 440, or 426...but after looking into it I thought that I ca save some money and use this block to make a 470 stroker daily driver.  I will post up some pics after I get her all settled in.  I have a bit of mechanical know hoiw, but I have never tore into an engine before.  Look out for numerous questions in regards to building the engine as this will be our first attempt.

First thing to do is check the proven engine combo section in performance topic.

Good to know.  Like I said, I have never torn apart an engine, but I know it is not rocket science...  I will have the use of the auto hobby shop on base where they have an engine room and can do alot of the cleaning up for me... along with blueprinting if I want it.

More pics...

sanders7981

you can see some of the things that will need attention during the resto... not too bad overall though.  Other than the front floors and trunk floor, the car is SOLID!  I have more parts, but didnt open up all the boxes to take pics of everything yet.  More to come...

YES!! The guy I bought it form restores cars for a living.  This was a personal project that he had been doing on the side for a while, but he had too many other projects he was working on and lost interest in this car for restoring his dream car.  He did have it media blasted, primered, and polyurethane primed for waterproof protection.  Otherthan the trunk floor and front floors, it is a super solid car!  I was suprised to find one in this condition so fast.... I knew htat I couldnt let it slip by.  We hope to have it complete, except for the engine, prior to my July deployment.

Make sure to get a 1969 shop service manual to help with putting everything back together when it's time to, those books are a must!  :Twocents: Once again congrats on the car  :2thumbs:
