Found this Charger for sale locally.  Checked it out yesterday.  If anyone needs a great 68 parts car this is it.  Unfortunately the underneath of the car is shot...I would have bought it but I'm not sure this thing would make it up on to a tralier in one piece.   :o  The car is almost complete with the original 383...also has factory cruise control and air conditioning...complete!  The guy was asking $2000 firm.  If he would have taken $500 I would have a third Charger.  Anyway here are a few pics (if I can get them to upload with dialup)  The guy's name is Terry and his phone # is 616-724-8279.  He also has a 68 Convertable Coronet 500 and a 66 440 Charger sitting out.  The 66 was in good shape but the Coronet was junk...he wants $1500 for that  :rotz:

THis car has ALOT of good usable parts so feel free to call him.

Well at least he has them up for sale right?

That '68 is all original still, wow.  What a shame.  Will he sell parts off it?

Skyview69

Right now he wants to sell it in one piece but he can probably make more if he pars it out.  I bet he can be talked into it though.  The passenger side of the car is literally bending into the ground.  There is about a 1.5 inch gap in the door seems from the sagging.

awwww  thats a sad sight  :'(  cruse control  also :scratchchin:

I suppose with time and money it could be restored...since it is practically all there.  The rear bumper and lights were stolen when the car was at its previous rotting place.

Damn, that's a shame....looked to be a once awesome car :yesnod:

SAD SAD......... The complete engine bay, with the cruise setup and all the AC there, is worth more
than the rest of the hole car   :rotz: :rotz:

Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Man that is a good parts car and well worth 2k to somebody doing a total resto on a 68. You could probably spend almost that much in gas and phone calls tracking down half that many parts these days.

The bugle sounds the charge begins. But on this battlefield no one wins.

Alto, Michigan to be exact.  About 25 miles southeast of Grand Rapids.  I'd love to see someone here pickup this car and do something with it.   :2thumbs:

i need a compleet interior and this car will be great for me but the distance and transport i think will kill me.
where is the charger at? near miami?

That engine bay is full of goodies, I would be like a dog off a chain if i had access to it.
My car was optioned with cruise control, but someone took it out before I got it.

I have everything except the link that attaches the cruise servo cable to the carb for my car.

motorcitydak

Its only about 200 miles away from me. If I did not already have a car, Id be going to get that one for sure. I could have saved $1000 or maybe a little bit more on the car, tore it apart myself and then spent that money on resto stuff. O well, I do not have room for another car rite now

All the underhood stuff is there, in one piece :o

Looks like more then a parts car to me. Whats it missing a pair of tailights and a rear valance ? Sure redo the floors, trunk and frameraills and whatever rust remains .That car could be back on the road. Maybee it will run and drive with a little work.
If it was mine I would ask for more money it is a compleate car by most peoples standards . Not a parts car in my opinion even if you consider it to be a parts car there should easily be worth more then $ 2,000 worth of parts there . :Twocents:

If you only have $ 1,500 to spend now why not ask if the seller would let you remove the hood and trunk lid and then agree to purchase them later in writeing for $500 or some similer parts you could have shipped to you even.Maybee buy it for $2,000 and then sell a few parts off it and rebuy the same parts later cause it's easier to order a part here and there then a whole car.

That is a nice compleate car located nowhere near me otherwise I'd buy it as is  :Twocents:

ChargersETC..ETC..

Sorry I didn't realize you offed $ 500 for the Charger.  I got the other car price info  mixed up and thought you were trying to purchase the Charger for $ 1,500 . O well maybee another local charger fan likes the idea and saves it from being parted out and crushed.  :2thumbs:

I agree, it looks like more than a parts car.  We've all seen more work put into /6 cars & this one is a red '68 383 4bbl Charger!!

Did you get a pic of the fender tag?

The fender tag is gone...rust.  It can be saved with alot of work.  :hack: :smash: :paintingpink: :buff:

Its about 3-4 hours from me. How was the car structually? Are the frame rails & supports rotting away? I already have a project and no more garage room................. BUT still Very tempted.

Its almost  ;D readable in your second pic, I doubt it is unreadable!

Somebody should save this car, everything on it can be replaced with the new stuff out from AMD, so NO  excuses!!! They are not making any more 68 Chargers again EVER! I'm tempted to buy this car too.

You're right..I mixed the tag up with the Coronet that was there....nothing left of that tag The fender tag is on the Charger but I did not take the numbers down or get a picture.

I called Terry today. It sounds like everything structural underneath is gone or going. He said the body had some patch work at some point and body rot/rust. I was hoping it would be something worth saving, but sounds like it might be a excellant parts car. Other than that he said it is complete and numbers matching. He also doesnt sound like he will budge off 2k. Which I think is a fair price, but above the sweet spot for me.
My project charger was complete when I bought it, so i dont really need any of the parts. I though it might make a decent future project. Someone with a solid charger shell looking for parts should snatch this thing up.

I agree with you...the price is fair but too much for me to take on another!  It is worth saving in my opinion
