69 charger project

I'm 17, I have a 69 charger r/t SE 440 727 with a 3.55 posi (I like Chevy, so that's what I call it)
Everyone is giving me hell about how i want to restor it so I'm on the brink of selling it for a new truck, just to shut them up, I'm sure more then a few of you know what I mean.
But I don't want to sell it, it needs a color change, yellow is a crummy color (my opinion), so I want to do a GL. But I have never driven this car, so I want to know, should I say forget the paint (its already painted but poorly) and dump my money into it and go balls to the wall and get this baby terrorizing my town? Or keep on track with saving for paint ($1,300 interior bottom and engine bay) an risk selling it our of frustration?

I have a truck I drive (my dads) that i want to chip and convert to 4wd, and a jeep that is my mud buggy that always needs something new. So I have no lack of things to dump money into.

Get it running and enjoy it for now, unless the body is in terrible shape. What are the plans for the restoration that people are giving you crap about?

I would try and enjoy it,,,drive it,,,or get it running for now,,,and see how it goes,,,,
things get pricey in a hurry,,,,you might be surprised how much you like it as is now,,,,once you start driving it....

I say sell it. We've all seen pictures because this kid was a member before (500hp_440) until he was banned for his attitude (twice). Don't bother giving advice because he completely ignores it then attacks anyone who criticizes him - or even just mildly questions his approach. It's a decent rare car on its way to being hacked beyond recognition.

well whoever you are i dont know about the past, but my honest opinion is that it is your car and you can do what you want to it, however, dont half arse anything, you are only 17 and your list of other projects is pretty big and costly. you need to get your priorities and plans in order first. pick one big project and stick to it. if that means building a mud truck then sell the other toys, if it means building a pro street charger then sell the mud bogger and build the car.

if you do decide to keep the car then i would honestly suggest not building a drag car out of this one. from the sounds of it she is in really good shape. it is a rare car, i would rather see it done up as a general lee then a blown drag car. lots of guys on here hate to see chargers go GL but hey, its just paint and stickers...lol once the car is back halfed and holes cut in the hood, she's altered forever. you can get run of the mill chargers pretty easy this time of day as lots of guys are selling their projects. if you are hell bent on a drag queen then i would get another car

t's not, bother engine and trans. are from 69 Chargers though, if it was matching numbers it would beadifferent story, but who know I could love it stock but then again I could hate it, atleast now I will have plenty of time to drive it as is.

If this idea fails, I probably will, I was looking fo a truck but the only one I would trade for are rare 05 ram 3500 dually diesel 6 speed 4x4 (6x6) crew cab, long bed, if I find one I might still trade for it.
