Interesting mopar auction in New York - Daytona parts

A friend of mine sent me this link to an auction of mopar-related items in New York. Up for auction here are a nose cut off a Daytona, notice the partial fenders along with the nose and a complete wing and back glass.. Headlamp buckets look salvageable.

"To be sold as one lot. 1969 Dodge Daytona, used original front nose cutoff with headlamp assemblies, braces and brackets, complete rear wing set including mounts and brackets, as well as the Daytona rear window plug with the original back glass. This package along with the Daytona fender tag, registration and the car's history will all be sold as one lot.

Also to be sold separately. 1969 Fin as well as a 1968 Charger R/T with restoration started. "

Interesting, the person who owned 636 had contacted me back in 90 and he claimed to have purchased the car in 87 from someone in ontario, Canada. He was asking me why his a-pillar mouldings were secured through the face like a s/bird and if that was common or not. By his letter I assumed the car was complete! I wonder if the wing and plug are from the same car or were parts collected from diff't cars.

I figured some one would have posted some details on what the car was by now? Original selling dealer, sales codes, history or?

I have to wonder how many wing cars have come "back" over the years due to illegal VIN sales like this one.

I don't have any ownership history on the car, but the Shipping List indicate it was sold at Capitol Dodge in Ottawa, ON (Dealer code 22-C5944).  It's also #121 on the shipping list by my count, and supposedly rolled away on the transporter from Creative Industries on 8/24/69.  All of the Canadian Daytonas were omitted from the Dealer Invoice list for whatever reason, so there's no additional info from that source.

Gene, I'm not sure it applies to Daytona's but when I tried to get the IBM card for my 67 the Historical Society told me that records on anything shipped to Canada were non-existant.  They had two theories on this but didn't know for sure about either.  One was that it was simply destroyed since Chrylser Corporation had no need for it.  The other was that everything pertaining to a vehicle sent to Chrysler Canada, in effect a separate company, went with that vehicle and that if the records still existed they would be with Chrysler Canada.  Reason speculated for both of these ideas was that it would be connected to warranty purposes.  My attempts to contact Chrysler Canada to search for old paperwork only resulted in lots of spam with offers to buy a new Caliber or minivan.
I'm still trying to find an "in" with the Canadian subsidiary who might be able to help me out.

After talking with some folks who worked at the St. Louis assembly plant in the administration offices and some who worked in/around the corporate offices in Detroit, I am not surprised to hear you've run into a dead end.  It's a wonder ANY of this paperwork survived considering the "pitch that crap, it's just taking up space" mentality they've consistently maintained.  Maybe Chrysler Canada had a different philosophy but I won't hold my breath.  Worth asking the question though if you are able to make contact.
