Never been invited, worst 3 years of my life...never looked back. Funny how some try to hit me up on facebook. Are you serious?  Although I did accept 3 of the guys that were in the band that were always nice to me for whatever reason.

Funny that you mention Facebook. Do we even really need class reunions anymore with facebook available? You can find almost anybody on facebook that you went to high school with, plus facebook will tell you where they live, where they work.
Plus facebook allows you to weed out the A**holes you never liked in high school and only accept friend requests from people you did hang around and get along with. Unlike a reunion where people act fake and come up to you acting all buddy buddy, hoping you don't remember that they treated you like crap 20 years ago.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

:scratchchin: hmmmm :2guns:

I think there is too much personal information on facebook, that is nobody's buisness. But I think in the future facebook will make high school reunions irrelevant.

Figures I moved in the summer before my final year of school. Thought it would be cool going to a reunion to see people I pretty much grew up with (spent grade 4-11 in that town)...but nooo...reunion is gonna be a bunch of random ass people I don't know ::)

Then go to your old schools reunion instead, thats what one chick did from my school.  She moved away Junior year but now lives back here and goes to our school reunions.   :Twocents:

You can do that?

I know when they had my reunion...they invited people that didn't graduate with us....invited a couple that moved junior/senior year, also invited a couple that dropped out before graduation.

Why not?  Most dont have armed guards at the door and your friends will want to see you anyway.....

Never mine. Went to my wife's ten year. Her old boyfriend kept hitting on her ::), he was married and had his wife(total hottie)with him, I tried talking to her, she was a totally stuck up bitch so I couldn't blame him for hitting on my wife. The only problem was he showed up unannounced at my house the following Monday expecting my wife to "entertain" him.  :flame: :flame: She refused to let him in and threatened to call the cops if he didn't leave.
Needless to say we have never been to another.

I wasn't real popular in school being the "fat kid", so I never have or will ever go to one. I only have 1 friend from all my years in school I talk to yet anyway.

If you do decide to go to one, you may be surprised at how fat and grotesque the "popuplar" people are now.

funny this thread has come up, as I am currently in the process of helping organize my 20 year reunion.  we had a 10 and now the 20.  we all decided to skip the 5 year ones as not much changes.

i have all my high school photos (and earlier ones) laid out and are currently being organized for photo albums so that I may bring them with me.  I have set up a facebook page for all of the high school graduates to become "fans" of so that we may discuss plans.

that is what we are doing so far. neat to read everyone's responses.

I went to my 5 year, it was a "Wow, I'm still the toughest guy around" fest...

I went to the 10 year it was "My hair's just thinning, but I can drink you under the table!" fest...

I stopped by the 15 and everyone was already poluted..

The 20th was an absolute joke. I wouldn't have known anyone if it wasn't for their name tags. No one was sober.. I stuck around for 1/2 hour and split.

The way I see it is if I liked him/her enough I'd still be friends with them.. The rest of the people can go blow the dog

Damn straight. When I went to the 10th, the class jock came up to me and says "Hey I hear you're powerlifting now, want to hook up and train some time?". It didn't look like he had hit the weights for years.. I said "Oh Hell yeah! I can remember the time you tossed me on the field and booted me in the stomach. This will be fun!". Needless to say, that was the last time we talked...

You're joking, but I bet you'd be surprised how many of your classmates are already changed a lot by now.

Once the reality of life (not living at home on the parents dole) hits you, most people change real fast.

Graduated in 71. Never went to any reunions. Only had a couple close friends in school. We're still close friends, so I dont need to go to a  reunion to see them.
Talked to others that went. Jocks still act like they're Gods gift to everyone. Snotty rich kids still snotty rich kids because they got jobs in daddys company, or daddy pulled strings and got them into schools they never would have made it into without help.
Screw'em!

I cant believe how much negitivity there is is this thread....Its the oppisite at the reunions Ive been to. Most of my classmates have grown up and treat eachother well. I think alot of people whove responded would be surprised by people if they gave it a chance at a reunion.

PS. I was not a jock or rich kid or any of the clicks in High school. Infact I had that same kind of animosity towds those people. But in my experiance MOST of them leveled off and became normal people like the rest of us.

Last year would have been 5 years for me.  Didn't hear anything about a reunion.  Not sure if I would have even gone, anyway.  Only thing I miss out of HS is playing Football.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.
