Six quart pan dipstick question

I got the Mancini 6 quart Hemi oil pan for my rebuilt 383 but after reading through some of the dipstick threads here there seems to be an issue with getting the correct dipstick for this application. Why won't a Hemi dipstick work with a Hemi pan on a 383? If not, what does work or do you have to modify one?

I run that pan with a stock dipstick & tube.....just put in your 7qts & mark your stick to your new Full line

I missed that one somehow. Perhaps my search wasn't as exhaustive as I had thought. Thanks for the info. Chris is trying to mess me up with that 7 qts thing, I just know it.

From what I've been told the hemi pan holds 6 qts. plus 1 qt. for the filter = 7 qts.

Ok, makes sense.

Interesting sidenote, the same modern Mopar filter is used on all three of my cars: 1968 383 V8 Charger, 2003 4.7 V8 Durango and 1994 3.9 V6 Dakota.
