that pic must be a fake. I saw video of him at LAX just a week ago and he didn't look that bad at all. Not saying he looks the same as 20 years ago but that pic must not have been the real ST or... he has had a remarkable recovery because he looked much better than that at the airport.

My 64yo father isn't into fitness or appearance at all, and he still looks a hell of a lot better than Steven Tyler in that airport pic.

Drug-addled rockers just don't age well even in the better cases.

It's weird to think about it - Aerosmith has already done their middle-aged comeback thing, and THAT was almost 20 years ago.

I am a member of a KISS board and this story has been over there for months.  One of the guys ran into Tyler and snapped a picture of him.  Yes this is really him within the last couple months.  Word is he fell off the wagon again.

WOW. He looks like my grandmother, and she's been dead twenty years.

I've been a Aerosmith fan since I saw them on their Get Your Wings Tour in November 74. Their first four albums were the best RnR you could ask for. They can still rock live but haven't written a good song for decades.

I was lukewarm about Aerosmith's early 90s stuff at the time, but it has grown on me a lot since then.

.  .  .  Or maybe the average song on the radio has just gotten that much worse since the early 90s.

Exactly....Can you say Nickelback, Creed, Daughtry, Cold Play, Spin Doctors, Everclear. Man just bringing up these names brings waves of nausea

The bugle sounds the charge begins. But on this battlefield no one wins.

He looks like he has 1 foot in the grave already. Bummer, in the good ol days he sure had some great songs.

i think you guys are gluttons for gossip if you believe that photo is him.. geesh... seriously naive.

secondly, its his fricken life and whatever he does, how is it going to affect you?  would you want steven tyler telling you that your charger restoration is going to look like shit because its 40 years old and you shouldnt try and do things on your own?

come on people.  if the guy wants to do what he wants to do, why the hell do you give a shit? its his life.. not yours. i hear so many times on this board about how people tell each other "hey its your car, do with it what you want." The same goes with his life, as much as it does with yours.  Your judgment of his decisions are based ridiculously on your own needs which dont amount to one pile of goose crap in regards to what this guy goes ahead and does.

After all, he didnt ask for your permission did he?

Being Boston boys, I've seen them more times than I can count.

No more, no more.  :icon_smile_wink:

The last decent thing they put out was Draw the Line in 1977.

Honestly, Dude Looks Like a Lady? Love in an Elevator?  :eek2:

Why does our gossiping about a documented former-possibly-current-again heroin and alcohol abuser affect you?!? By your logic, it's our business, right?   :shruggy: Just sayin'....I couldn't care less about Steven Tyler, but this is an Off-Topic thread, and we're having fun with it. That's all...

don't forget that horrible power ballad off the "Armageddon" soundtrack.

Which brings me to my next point - that song was written by Diane Warren, who has also written for hard rock legends Celine Dion and LeeAnn Rimes.

All of those mega hits they had in during their mid 80's comeback and early 90's (dude looks like a lady, angel, crazy)? Desmond Child - he of "Living La Vida Loca" authorship. Granted, the dude does have more hard rock cred (KISS, Bon Jovi, Dream Theater), but it still sucks that Aerosmith can't write a song by themselves.

:iagree:

Oh man, that Armageddon song was a mess.

It was like the sound mixer had recorded the whole thing with all the "suck" levels up too high.

They got into a tiff with one of the local rock stations, WAAF, a few years ago right after they put out that "Armageddon" crap. They were complaining that the station wasn't playing any of their new stuff.

The response from AAF was to tell them that when they started playing rock again, they'd get air time.
