So my family all went south to FLA.   & of course left me here in CT to feel left out.   Yeah right.    ;)
Any way my Sister married some loser.   Don't mean to offend any one but he is a true Redneck.   I am okay with the guns and beat cars but when it comes to the kids and the living conditions that were I draw the line.   Let’s put it this way it is a good thing they are down there and I am up here other wise there would be real trouble.   For instance below is a young lass who is a close friend of my niece.   (Hope I spelled that right).   Now both of my sister’s kids have done the very same thing on numerous occasions.      Once me nephew ran into the house and down a cocktail on the table mind you his 2.5 and can barley complete a word expect for Spider Man and HEMI :D   that one I helped him out with.   I just don't get it.

If this is real, and the Children are truly exposed to this type of lifestyle, I would think that the State would be interested in interviewing the parents!   Do you think it would be a good idea if you made an anonymous phone call?

tin_soldier

When they where up here some one did call the state on them.   Did some course and had some people stop by unexpectedly to check in on the kids.   But they passed.   just don't know what to do.   I can't force them to do things and I just get frustrated talking about it.

screw anonymous if that's your niece and that is taking place then that's child abuse. you need to save that picture and show it to the child protective services. THAT'S JUST WRONG and YOU need to take action. At this point just the fact that you know what is going on and you fail to stop this then you are just as guilty as they are. I don't give a rats @$$ if she is your sister letting children drink alcohol is not funny.  :flame:

Before you pass judgmet there mister try reading a bit"For instance below is a young lass who is a close friend of my niece. "   This is NOT my family member.   But I think I have met her when I was down there I am not certain though.

Was that pic for real or was it "staged"?!

Okay so the pic was not of your niece but you did write this.............

And I would be looking to take the parents of the kid in the picture out to the woodshed too.

I don't find this funny at all this just psses me off those kids have to pay for their parents being morons and then we as a society gets stuck paying for them..........

I had my first beer when I was 5.  It was a Budweiser.  I don't think I turned out bad.  It might explain my love for Coors though.   :icon_smile_big:
When I was just a very young lad I looked up and told my dad, a bareback rider's what I wanna be.  I want the whole world to know about me.  In the rodeo arena I'll make my stand.  I wanna be a rodeo man.  I'll come flyin' from the chute with my spurs up high, chaps and boots reachin' for the sky.  Spurin' wild with my head throwed back, you'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.  You'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.

73 I agree wit you too.   But it is like the act gets cleaned up for a bit and then back to slum conditions. Then cleaned up again then a back to slum conditions.   it is such a roller coaster ride.   I feel as if my hands are tied.      :brickwall:

You guys must not have had much fun growing up.  As if that picture's real and she just downed that beer. ::)  I think it's cuter than shit, CAT equipment in the background and a hard day's work.    And for once I agree with Mojo.

bull

Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

I understand your concerns if they are legit, but you said you were in CT & the family went without you. Who took the photo? How do you know it's real? Does the beer bottle have beer in it, or was it refilled with juice or something? I have pictures of my daughter in her high chair when she was about that age. In one photo she was "having a beer" & in another one she was "having a shot" of Wild Turkey. In both cases I had cleaned the bottle & the shot glass, & refilled it with apple juice. She got a big kick out of drinking something different. Be prepared to prove what you suspect before you do anything. In either case, I hope it works out & the kids don't suffer.

Coors is no way to start out btw.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Spartan

My dad gave me a sip of PBR when I was 5 years old just to taste it, it was soo bad I didn't touch alcohol again until I was 18.

If kids that small are being given beer like that on a regular basis something needs to be done to stop it.  Its poor parenting to allow that stuff to go on.
Over?! its not over until we say it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!...Hell no! and its not over now!..(Germans? Pearl Harbor?...shut up, he's on a roll)

Telvis

I had a boss years ago who's toddler son would grab a beer and down it. He was sooooo proud of that kid. He's probably grown and on a 12 step program somwhere.

Back in my day I would occasionally be given a beer, and like most 10 year olds I would drink it, and politely ask for another.
This was only on special occasions, and only under the supervision of adlrts.

Only once have I been injured while drinking, and that was by cutting my finger on a beer can that I was trying to turn into a plane.

What Im trying to say is that its ok for minors to have a drink occasionally, but 2 and a half is too young.

Now Im left thinking "Did all that need to be said?"
No, it didnt.

69_500

Well from where I'm sitting the bottle looks empty. I think its also funny  that she has on a CAT shirt, and there is heave equipment in the background. I find it also amusing that the picture is taken in the back of a pickup. You can see the bed liner in the picture. So I'm thinking the picture was deliberatly staged, and that the bottle was empty to begin with. So I don't think she drank anything.

skip68

Hell, I guess I'm guilty of staging a photo or two with my kids. I think that every parent at one point or another has staged a shot of there kids doing something that their kids have no idea as to what they're doing. Some things are in poor taste, I agree. However, it's cute, and I try not to read too much into it. Now on the other hand, if they do stuff like this all the time, well then you're dancing the line of white trash! :nono: Then you have to wonder what else do they think is funny. Try not to read too much into it. If you feel strange about it, go with your gut. The parents allways have a choice, the children don't. BUT,  make sure you have a good legitamit reason.   CHUCK................
