Test a Mini Starter

I thought I was so smart.  I sanded down my ministarter which had been in the car for years and I just wanted to paint it while I had it out.  well I took some bolts out so I could paint the body.  I kind of lost where i was and picked it up and it seperated into a couple of pieces.

I got it painted and back together and it looks perfect.  I want to test it before I put it back in.  I have a jumper pack and I was thinking of grounding the case and putting juice to the pos terminal.  Is this a decent way to test it?

yes. and then use a jumper wire from the solonoid to the pos terminal. hang on to it because it'll take off!

Clamp it in a vise

wouldn't it be more fun to see if I can contain the torque and the fury?
