previous owner connection

I just got off the phone with one of the previous owners of my cars father.

Im really excited.....I found some work performed receipts when I bought the car but until now never acted on it. I contacted one of the names and it turned out to be the owners father. he told me a little about the car mostly that it was the fastest car he'd ever driven.

He gave me his sons number but unforturnetly he wasnt home. Ill try again later or tomorrow.

I should have done this 20 years ago.....but it sounds like there may be some info to gain. maybe no documentation but Ill settle for a conversation.

I received a call from the son who was the owner last night before I went into work.

I talked to him for over an hour! I found out a lot about the car. the nose is a replacement which I thought was the case but wasnt clear on. his brother backed into the nose in the driveway and smashed it up pretty good. He was almost talked into a fiberglass replacement but decided to go for the steel piece they had to have shipped in from out of state. he spun a bearing in the motor racing the same brother. He bought the car in 1977 at age 16 for 2500.00 and sold it in 1982 for 8,000.

He's going to send me some documents he has from the car!

also mentioned he hung around with a guy named Eckbird? who had two 'Birds and then added a Daytona....anyone know him?

He is also sending me the name of the owner he bought the car from! hopefully that person was the original owner!
