I'd almost guess that the TV show, "My Name is Earl" is somewhat based on that movie.

  one of the worst movies i've ever seen is called vampires kiss  ,  He plays a dude who thinks he's a vampire and sleeps under his turned over couch during the day light hours .

There definitely better actors but on the other hand far more that are worse. And no I don't think playing pretend good is worth millions of dollars.
