Bill Cowher Spit Shield!

I almost fell off my easy chair last night right before ABC went to commercial.  They showed Steelers coach Bill Cowher in his ever-present pissed off scowl- literally "spraying" explitives at the officials, followed by the next shot of a Colts fan in the sea of blue- sporting an industrial face shield with the letters "BILL COWHER SPIT SHIELD" across the top and bottom!

Now THAT my friends, was friggin HILARIOUS!!!

I was shocked at the second half kickoff by the Steelers- whathehell was Cowher thinking?! That was a huge gamble that blew up in his face.

I thought it was a good game though.  The Colts started the game ON FIRE with that opening pass from my man Peyton!  Pittsburgh eventually found their footing, though it came in the second quarter.  Good effort on their part- especially their defense.  I will give that guy, who's name escapes me, with the long black hair out from underneath his helmet, his just due- he played a good game.

I thought the Steelers were going to really run the ball a lot more.  I also thought that the Colts met most expectations of the Steelers defense and brought the ball downrange into Pittsburgh territory more often.

Peyton had a great game- not much surprise there, as he has basketload of options available to him at any given time.

One thing I was dissapointed with was the amound of real estate the Colts gave up on penalties!!! Well over 110 yards for cripes sake on silly and stupid mistakes!  I'm surprised that Pittsburgh didn't take advantage of that fact more.

11-0 and next week will be an easy one against Tennessee, which will make them 12-0.

My next team of obvious concern is Seattle.  The Chickenhawks seem more of a threat than the Bengals and Steelers combined, in my humble opinion.  We'll just have to wait and see.

GO COLTS GO!

Let me guess, you must be a Colts fan.

Peyton Manning has always annoyed me. All the screwing around before the snap is a stupid waste of time. He calls audibles and yells and points and runs around and then he finally runs the play and they're lucky if they gain 2 yards. Just shut up and run the friggin' play. All night last night the Steelers would show blitz and Manning would freak out and take 60 seconds to call an audible and then the Steelers would drop out of it. Even at 11-0 Manning is overrated because he has yet to really impress me on his own. I think he's a mediocre QB surrounded by 10 excellent players and a defense that carries the team more than half the time.

Gee- sorry you feel that way Bull.  I think how he runs his show with a "no huddle" and barks off commands to the very last second of the play clock are excellent tactics;  Such as getting the ball snapped when the opposing team are still trying to switch out players for a penalty.

Mediorcre?  Well- everybody is entitled to opine and bloviate.

:iagree:
Good question as to the number of "band wagon winning team" fans who support the Colts!

Glad I'm not one of them- been a fan since 1978.   Been with them through thick and thin.

Well I will venture to say this, and I live in INDY, I will say that about 45% of the Supposed Colts fan that we have in this city only became Colts fan in the last 2 seasons. Before that they were hard pressed to sell out a game, and you never saw anyone excited for colts anything. So yeah there are a lot of bandwagon fans here in INDY.

Personally I think that Peyton is a good quarter back. Is he one of the best of all time, I don't know, I really don't think so. Then again I reaise this question how good would Joe Montana had been on another team? would have have guided a team without multiple other Hall of Famers on it to a Super Bowl win? There was tons of talent on the 49ers of the 80's surrounding him, just like Peyton has here in Indy offensively. The difference is that now they have a decent defense, its not a top 10 in my opinion but its good enough to win games. They are built like the 49ers of the 80's. Top 15 defense, and a top ranked offense.

I would have to strongly disagree Danny. The true Colts fans have stuck with the team through all the good and bad. The "FEW" games they did'nt sell out were only by a few thousand tickets.

The jump on the band wagon Colts fans now own those coveted tickets.

Go Colts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not me.

I'm watching them anxiously, though.  I think they may actually go and become the 2nd team to go undefeated.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Your honestly sitting there saying they only missed selling out games by a few thousand tickets? This is also knowing of how many companies around here just went out and purchased how many hundreds of tickets just to try to get them to sell out. I can think of plenty of times in the past years when you could still go to a ticketmaster the day before the game and get a ton of available seats to any given game.

There are very few TRUE colts fans in my minds. I can remember to back in the 90's when they missed the Super Bowl by one catch, and the next year going to watch the Dolphins Colts game, and seeing twice as many Aqua jerseys in the stands as I did Blue and White.

Winning changes things.

Hell, I used to be able to get a block of tickets to any Patriots game.

Once Parcells got here, that was the end of that. The season ticket waiting list is a mile long and you have to pay $500 just to get on it.

I hope that no one thinks that I'm being rude by these comments. I'm just voicing my opinion. I know that I have plenty of friends here in the Indy area that claim to be colts fans, but I don't recall hardly any of them cheering, or them doing any talking of any kind about the Colts in the years they weren't winning. That is where I'm drawing my opinion from. That and I can remember plenty of years when the sporting stores around here carried more shirts for the Bears, Bengals, Cowboys, Dolphins, 49ers than they did of the Colts. The trend is changing, but I don't think that if the Colts turn around and go 6-10 next year there will be 8 home sell outs.

69_500

See to me a TRUE FAN doesn't change when a team is winning or losing. To me they are the ones who go out and spend money on tickets, tshirts, hats, jersey, or anything else even when the team is 2-14. Heck I'm a Dolphins fan, and I can tell you this much, I've bought as many Dolphins hats and shirts in the past 2 years as I did any of  the years prior to that. If they went 0-16 next year I'd still pay for my NFL package and watch all 16 of their games and cheer for them.
