Should I remove the lead?

My car came from the factory with a vinyl top but I will not be putting one back on it. I was removing some of the ecxess lead on the C pillar that went into the driprails and noticed that there is a significant amount of rust under the lead that I did chip away. Should I remove the rest of it? I know that it would not be hard to take it all out, primer over the areas after taking care of the rust and using filler over the voids left behind. If I do remove it, should I go all out and take it out of the A pillars (both top and bottom) and rocker/quarter panels?

I would take it out of any area that does not appear perfect. It's easy to remove and then you can fix any underlying problems.
