Nope it's an aftermarket add-on.  Possibly done at the dealer but it used to be fairly common.

Dealer add item. Vintage correct for 68-79

I didnt know if that was the body belt molding M31

Ghoste

M31 would be the chrome strip running along the top of the door and rear window that sort of outlines the bottom edge of the glass area.

68 Charger, slowly in the works, 451 c.i. approx. 535 hp @ the flywheel, so far best time in the 1/4
11.21 @ 119 mph, full exhaust, stock suspension, 4:10s @ 3640 pounds.

That trim suits certain cars but it dosen't suit R/Ts. :Twocents: It and the stripe are too much. Paul's '69 orange R/T has that trim on the side. My Duster has the trim too but it's just stick on. It's going bye-bye soon enough :icon_smile_big:

My '68 had that same trim.  It was put on with stainless steel pop-rivets.  It was not easy drilling those rivet out to get the trim off.

They do function well, I've had them and they can take a good smack.
