I'm the guy with information on the hemicuda sn BS23R0B256819...I have just purchased some old documentation from a dealer in Millen Georgia, and for the hemicuda I have the dealer invoice, the advanced invoice from the factory to the dealer, the dealer decal that he placed on the trunk (new), the tracking information and two copies of the actual bill of sale...the dealer cost was $3,908.55, the suggested retail was $4,761.95 and the cash price (check) was $4,103.06...

I also acquired information on a '70 R/T Charger, 5 Roadrunners, a few GTX's, a '70 Chrysler 300, a few trucks, several '61 Plymouths, etc....

Trust me .I know first hand how a rear end of a superbird holds up after being rear ended by a truck in the 80-s.My old car 19K mile 6 pack 4 speed RM23VOA179697

Curious why was the quarter panel being chiseled of patch panel or Souvenir

The chiseled Bird looks to have great lower quarters.  Yeah I know, back in the old days they were just old cars.

If you could, would you please email the '70 Charger R/T info to the '70 Registry.  Maybe they have contact info?   :shruggy:

Thanks for doing this for folks.  :2thumbs:

In about November, 1983 or 1984, my friend (Richard Garland) and I went to Galax, Virginia, to buy some Superbird parts from a doctor...when we arrived he said that we could have the parts for $50 or the whole car, title and all, for $100...well, the car was rusty (including quarters), the nose was missing as well as the wing but it still had the window plug, trim and wing supports...so we told him we wanted the parts only, and the photo of the blue bird that you see is that bird with me holding the chisel...I'm chiseling out the wing supports that are spot welded underneath the quarter panels...that car today would have easily fetched about ten or twenty grand because it had all documentation...who knew?...after we bought the parts the owner crushed the car with a dozer and buried it...we cut up a black on black on black 69 4speed hemi charger because it had southern rust in the trunk and quarters...stripped it, cut it up with a hacksaw and put it into the back of a pickup truck...and that's just scratching the surface...but at that time a completely restored hemi charger would sell for around $4,500 to $5,000, so for a car with no engine who cared?...it's all a function of time...bk

Welcome to the forum Bruce!  Great pictures... even though they are a bit painful to see now-a-days.

You are right, times have changed... kind of hard to understand unless you lived through that era like some of us did.

Please post more back-in-the-day pictures!   :popcrn:  :popcrn:  :popcrn:

You're right, the Daytona was red, the 68 hemi roadrunner was an ice blue over blue with white vinyl top 69 hemi roadrunner 4 speed post car, I tallked him out of it over breakfast in 2000...it was owned by 3 of my friends since 1978 and never restored...that car was restored in 2008 and was the blue car in Beeney Motors at Carlisle in July, 2009 (beside the hemi rr convertible for which I found the entire driveline (recent Mopar Muscle, Mopar Action, Mopar Collector's Guide articles)...enclosed are before photos, one of the car the other the engine, taken at Richard's house in December, 2000...

The 69 hemi rr 4 speed photo did not go thru, here is the before...

Welcome Bruce,
Richard Garland showed up in the red Daytona at my house one day when I lived in Charlotte. I believe he worked for the people who built my house.  I took some pictures, but they got damaged in the processing (before the digital days!) He is a super nice guy. His Daytona "Top Gun" was photographed in front of Lowes Motor Speedaway and I believe is the Monogram 1:25 model car. It even comes with the "Top Gun " licence plate decal.

No, he sold it just before Barrett-Jackson phenomena in 2000...he still has his 67 440 RT convertible that he is updating with a hemi engine...shooting for a class 1 resto, he's close to achieving it...bruce

Here is a photo of the 69 Hemi runner 4 speed post car, bucket seats, no console, at Beeney Motors in Carlisle...Beeney Motors is the nostalgic dealership that magically transforms itself (with the help of Dennis Kohr) each year into the next years model celebration...

Well, I see that I'm going to have to post these photos one at a time...the photo before was my originally purple 4 speed hemi cuda sn BS23R0B242385, painted it vitamin c because it was stunning...new owner has now painted it back purple...here is a photo of the PANZASTAR Hemi (unrestored 71 Hemi Charger 4 speed EXPORT car now owned by Harold Sullivan) that appeared in Mopar Action back in 1991...will send others one at a tiime...bruce

...and what happened to my bird after being fixed?...what the wreck couldn't do my divorce did...my bird leaving my driveway in 1988...sigh...the sn was RM23U0A164612....bye, bye, birdie...bk
