Have you ever seen an original hemi driveline from one of the four 1969 hemi roadrunner 4 speed cars?...for serial number RM27J9G122xxx I found the entire driveline including:

air cleaner, carbs, engine, exhaust, k-member, engine mounts, bell housing, shifter, tranny, driveshaft, Dana and springs...have I missed anything?...oh, yes, the engine mounts...

In the photo taken in about September, 2003, you see the Hemi, Dana and the tranny is on the near side of the trailer hidden by the trailer side...

What else did I find at the same place?...Hold on....Remains of a Sox and Martin 68 race Cuda incuding seats, engine, intake, carbs, linkage, oil pan, valve covers, etc...also a complete superstock engine date April 6, 1964, hanging by a chainfall over a pot bellied stove...and a complete 67 hemi driveline that I sold to the late Ron Adair...and a 383 notchback 68 cuda, blue, white interior auto...and actually too much to list...Mopar Muscle magazine, google "bruce kepley hemi roadrunner" for my photos of the stuff online...

Ok, one more....'71 6 pak cuda, curious yellow, billboards, added rubber bumpers, original bench seat fold down armrest auto car, sold it in 1998...got the car in trade from the late Ron Adair for the '71 Hemi Charger Export 4 speed car which the Harold Sullivan now owns...bk

Photo of the 69 hemi rr convertible (RM27J9G122xxx) before restoration when Dave Mamulski owned it...he sold it to Stephan Stehnij who sold it to Joe S.

It appeared at the 2009 Carlisle show in the nostalgic building (Beeney Motors with my 69 Hemi Post car) completely restored (Dennis Kohr, Kohr's Customs) and absolutely matching numbers which I can verify with photos and movies from finding the driveline...

And now for a photo of the two '69 hemi runners linked by fate...serial numbers are two days apart, sold from same dealership (Burnside Chrysler Plymouth) in Columbia, SC in October, 1968...as they appeared at Beeney Motors, Carlisle, Pa., July, 2009...

I found the engine to the convertible while looking for the engine for my post car...bk

Although not restored by anyone before, the previous owners of the 69 hemi runner post car took great care to preserve the body so that the car we began with was in remarkably good (great) condition...note the amount of factory seam sealer...bruce

This is the '64 superstock engine that I found in Pageland, SC, in 2003 hanging on a chainfall over a woodstove in a metal building...casting date was April 6, 1964, probably one of the first batch of racing engines...sold in a 64 Plymouth Belvedere to George Nesbit of Monroe, NC, thru Bruce Walters John Deere tractor company...it all started on a cruise ship in 1963, long story...bruce kepley

Bob Reeds 68 cuda shortly after the pressurized fuel line came loose on a high speed run...the fire was dramatic, the car appeared to be destroyed but looked great and was running 30 days later...Farmington, NC, about 2006...bk

In March, 2003, I had to travel to Bismarck, ND, to do some warrant work at a local company and met Brennan Cook...Brennan proceeded to tell me that he had purchased a superbird when he was 16 and that he still had it in storage...of course I wanted to see, but later in the week he took me over to what was a time capsule...this bird had not seen the light of day in over 15 years or longer...after I left Brennan was inspired to restore the bird and take it on a fantasy trip out west which he had always wanted to do...as a result you were able to see the same car that I saw in its glory in both Mopar Muscle and the New York Tiimes...what a story...enjoy the photo, one of my favorites...bruce

I believe I saw this at my friends bodyshop?   Man, that was the first time I sat in a real winger, and to see those uprights in the mirror was VERY COOL

Ok, guys, you've seen by now that I bleed mopar blue, but given my age (62) there are things in my life that has helped shape my small collection of only 4 cars...the hemi runner is who I am...the 62 Chrysler is pure pleasure, a loveable, fast lead sled, comfortable, and usually walks away with best of show even when it wasn't meant to...I'm doing a tribute car to a friend who passed away in 2007 of a '66 Chevelle race car being built at a local NASCAR shop...

So I have to admit I always wanted a '61 vette after seeing the tv program in the early 60's Route 66...so the runner shares a home with the plastic car...all cars have been bought right unrestored so that I could afford to restore them over time, which I've done...

But I can tell you that the vette guys are nuts...if you think we're anal you should talk to some of these guys...not a different planet, a different universe...and some are good friends because they're true car guys, no matter how misguided...my favorite?...the 62 three hundred, hands down...

Guys, something that you might want to try...

These "storyboards" are pretty cheap to do if you can use powerpoint...just do the layout for the size you want, send it to a graphics printer in your town and have it printed on the backing that does not warp...for a 30" x 30" the cost is about 40 to 50 bucks...but look at the uses:

Mount on your garage wall with commercial velcroe for your friends to see...
Take them down to use in your trunk during car shows...
And, if you decide to sell your car, this makes one great sales tool...explains exactly how the car was restored...

Enjoy...I have 14 "storyboards" now mounted in my garage, now my buddies want them too...
